Peterborough Panthers 2015
bigcatdiary replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I posted this on the Peterborough forum this morning and thought I would share it on here. A few years ago before doubling up was introduced I remember something being passed at the BSPA Conference which was done to encourage riders to move up from the PL and try the EL , the BSPA had noticed their was a reluctance from riders to try the EL over lack of fixtures amongst other things They therefore passed some ruling that allowed riders to try the EL and if things didn't work out or they were not offered a contract the following year rather than be saddled with a higher EL average they allowed them to return to the PL on their last PL average. This I think is what they are doing here, anyone else remember this. -

Not convinced Wilson is capable of the job. No point in changing for changings sake, if it benefits the team then great if RR is better stick with that. Although I accept RR is risky in the long term. -

Finished third in the 2014 PLRC a and 13th in the final PL GSA, on good equipment he is very good. -
Practically impossible

Logical and BSPA, that's two words not often seen in the same sentence.

Of course they would, only Lawyers earn out of this dispute, hope wards got big pockets. Indeed, a nice well balanced report Phil and you make some good points. Personally I think Middlo,s been told to wind his neck in.

Nice to see Blackbird back on a bike, could be a big year for this young man -
We will see, it's early days

It depends who is asking. It beggars belief that we have a rule saying it's not allowed and another saying under some circumstances it can be. Their are some people saying this visa row could string along until May before its sorted so I dare say this water will be tested again, it will be interesting to see what's decided and who for this time.

Cunningham should have gone EL in 99 but wouldn't despite the offers from Peterborough, Cunningham was like a lot of other riders at PL level he just lacked ambition. -
If it's true then it says much about the new owners. I sincerely doubt he is worth even half that amount (16k)

What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.
bigcatdiary replied to doners1234's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It surely would be interesting to know which clubs have failed to fulfill visa obligations and for the authorities to punish them rather than the whole league. -

Panthers get preference for Blackbird and Simon Lambert, Robert Lambert misses 3 meetings by my reckoning. Jon Cook does the fixtures for the EL, John Campbell does the PL. Certainly my understanding -
Well let's be fair Somerset didn't even consider LANHAM until forced into a change and nobody else wanted him including Sheffield. I think Somerset look very ordinary now and Workington look nothing special after weathering the Palm Toft decision.

Your view of riders taking any notice of start marshalls must be different to mine, as others have said most riders completely ignore them. As for referees we have such massive differences between ability, competence and consistency, it really is about time they graded referees accordingly, the idiots in charge of last years PL pairs and the Coventry sky match with all the exclusions being just 2 good examples.

5 Friday tracks ruled out straight away and anyone else signing him would be disadvantaged when the rode at the Friday tracks, it's too much aggravation, not in the least surprised he has missed out.
