  1. Only you have to have been a promoter for 3 years
  2. Would have thought Danny King would have been a front runner for Foxhall in 2015.
  3. Presumably this is the same David Hemsley who flatly refuses to alter the shape and layout of the track despite nearly everyone saying the track is crap. It's called lip service and Hemsley is as bad at it as most on the BSPA, they all sometimes listen but they don't do anything to change it. Another cracking letter in the star this week from Len Silver just highlights the problem.
  4. Not really, only that the fund was now over 24k and still rising.
  5. Your minds not playing tricks I asked the question and as you say Trevor gave a very clear no which was one of his clearer answers because some of them were as you say very vague. He didn't need to phone Bratters as he was at the meeting standing at the back, Trevor never spoke to him all evening.
  6. It's too early to make a decision on these as we don't know what's included or how many matches, until the AGM is concluded that won't be finalised.
  7. Trevor and Ged need big help, unfortunately despite the clues at the meeting neither spoke or seemed interested in pursuing the people who could make a big difference. Unfortunately Trevor was more interested in playing his favourite game - I know something you don't.
  8. Which brings us nicely back to what fans want see, close exciting racing on a well prepared tracks which allows overtaking NOT one line follow the leader motorways. As for the SCB, yet another body controlled by Harkess and CVS as they control the MC, complete waste of time.
  9. Well let's be fair Jim Lynch is only saying what we all know, the EL is broken and badly needs re structuring, personally I think Tony Steele is an excellent choice to do the job. CVS, Harkess and Cook etc haven't got the brains to sort this mess out so why not give someone with a half decent reputation the chance to sort it out for once.
  10. Certainly better than the 9.50 he started on this year.
  11. I must be honest and say my biggest concern is them putting out a poor team next year, I sincerely hope I am wrong.
  12. It will be financial suicide if they put out a naff side in 2015, Wilkinson, are you serious.
  13. ASL existed only on paper, what you believe isn't fact is it. I got the distinct impression they had already made their minds up to run especially when Swales made it clear everything was in place. The turn out was impressive and running Fridays was a good start, no real business plan was forthcoming and some of the answers to questions were vague but a good exchange of views and ideas. It's apparent that the Showground now really want the speedway to be there which is a big plus but they missed a trick by not having a bar on a warm evening. I still stay they need a good commercial manager although they did say they had spoken to someone about the role.
  14. Good idea and Horton,s main business is running a printing firm. It's not hard to see why he has lost a lot of money this year is it.
  15. Colin Horton didn't go bust in 2008, he sold the club to Rick Frost.
  16. Interestingly enough he has had 2 offers by promotions (not Peterborough) for next year, but bearing in mind his previous experience and the clubs n his blood and the fact he lives on the Show-ground you would have thought it was a no brainer he would have been invited.
  17. BSPA and sense in the same sentence Phil !!! After this years fiasco I would have thought the BSPA would try and ensure the play offs don't run past the end of September.
  18. It wasn't a straight forward decision but Pedersen did hit him and force him wide, if KK had gone straight down it would have been an easier call but he clearly tried to save it but lost it at the end. The trouble that Nicki has is his reputation and past, he is now clearly suffering from it, very few people including referees give him the benefit of the doubt.
  19. I agree it was a good GP, some good racing and some bloody good entertainment. Congratulations to Greg who is a worthy winner, shame Tai didn't get on the rostrum but his last two GP's just were not good enough.
  20. Edinburgh are a very good side and as you say did well putting it together with a lot of riders making significant increases in their averages but you have also been very fortunate with no significant injuries. I think the Monarchs have a good chance of the treble, they should be too strong for anyone over two legs.
  21. Well I wasn't there so cannot comment on his handling on that day but I have attended many many matches when he has and he is certainly one of the best referees in this country and does a pretty good job in the GP,s as well. When you put him alongside some of his colleagues in the UK he is light years ahead of most of them and some of those are truly dreadful and not even approaching inept.
  22. Go on I will say it, why on earth should Jim Lawrence be disciplined over this.
