Happy Birthday Phil, have a good one
-
It was good Tim , another regular that’s always a good read.
-
Mine arrived on time today and what a read it is. Some great stories this week, I particularly liked the Castagna, Tatum and Refs stories and the potted history of the KO Cup is an excellent series. The FIM supremo certainly had some choice words for the U.K. Promoters and to be fair a lot of what he said made sense.
-
All I got was a computer generated general reply mentioning COVID problems. Their complaint system is utter rubbish a bit like their deliveries at the moment.
-
I must be honest and say I have been tempted to try it, Phil have you ever thought of giving subscribers one or two free digitals to try it when renewing annual subscriptions. As an afterthought what percentage of subscribers are digital.
-
I think their is enough comment to suggest local sorting offices are holding back magazines when they are under pressure with big demand, our postmen mentioned that that other weekly magazines were at least two days late this week. What makes it worse is the only thing my Postman delivered today was four pieces of junk mail.

It’s pretty bad in the Peterborough area, myself and several local friends are all still waiting for this weeks copy, which considering we are about 10-15 miles away from the printers just shows how hopeless RM is.
-
Mine has been back to its regular Thursday for a few weeks now, some great stories in recent weeks.
-
The incident was on August 15th 2005, the star match report mentions it following Panthers 46-44 win at Poole on the night.
-
It was JBJ just not in 2007, more likely 2006 when he scored 10 in a Panthers win at Wimborne Road.
-
11th July 2007 was Poole v Peterborough, JBJ wasn’t in either team .
-
JBJ didn’t ride for Panthers in 2007
-
Hopefully, and with a better choice of when to run it we might well not get the complete farce tonight’s match was. That meeting was a dreadful advert for the sport and should never have started.
-
I think it’s clear some RM sorting offices work differently to others judging by the comments on this thread.
-
Must be honest the post about the postman telling one of his customers they hold the magazines back sounded a bit too close to the truth, for years mine has been Thursday pretty much for years, this year it’s been all over the place, Friday Saturday and even a Monday. I have thought about a digital copy but I do like a printed version.
-
Last two weeks my issue has arrived with Friday’s post, it’s irritating especially as I only live 15 miles away from where it’s printed. Its very notably got less reliable since plastic wrapped as opposed to a plain brown envelope.

How Many Of Us Are Losing Interest.?
bigcatdiary replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think a lot of fans would pay to watch a streaming meeting of their team at an away venue, I certainly would but would it be viable to set up and stream it at a reasonable cost. I don’t suppose they will know until they try it but recent events seems to suggest it’s a possibility, it would be interesting to know the figures for the recent matches but of course I don’t expect them to be made public. -
I think that makes a lot more sense, although it does again favour the stronger nations.

Question - If Madsen is such an exceptional gater (no argument from me) why does he continually jump the starts.
-
What a truly shocking GP., the racing was almost non existent with most races boring strung out follow the leader crap. This venue has for years has produced utterly crap racing and it’s clear the people preparing it haven’t got a clue. The answer to riders trying to anticipate starts, which to be fair affected most of the field tonight is to exclude anyone moving before the tapes are released, I dare say a few early exclusions would solve the problem as riders would (hopefully) learn very quickly. It would be harsh as Tatum states but I do think it would solve this annoying problem.

Try emailing a complaint to your local Royal Mail area manager, funnily enough they don’t appear to like complaints but it generally rectifies the problem.

Rest of the GP series

It’s a pity Ermolenko isn’t excluded from commentating, talks utter drivel continuously. -

Not sure we need 20 but Friday and Saturday GP,s have been excellent. Already been a lot of debate on this subject -
I watched him ride before he was old enough to race and it was obvious then he was a very special and talented rider, like a lot of other people he had a weakness for drugs and it cost him a long career in a sport. I have also spoken to him several times since he retired and he comes across very well, absolutely no point in blaming anyone else for his misfortunes in life the fault lies with Lee. Unfortunately drug use ruins lives and not only for the one using them.
