  1. A little odd, it’s bloody ridiculous. Yet another example of what was basically a good idea (Rising Star) being ruined by rules which yet again work against each other and offer an advantage to one team and disadvantage others. It could all have been avoided by proper assessed averages for Rising Stars (for those without the appropriate MA) instead of grades and team building built accordingly which most people understand.
  2. They were tipped for the wooden spoon by many because a lot of them were as you say past their best but it’s clear now that despite that they are all riding well and are exceeding all expectations at the moment. They have gelled well as a team, are enjoying their speedway and confidence is high. That together with good team management is providing the results. It was a cracking all round team performance on the night and whilst Lynn were unlucky to lose Schlein early on I still think Panthers had too much in the tank for the Stars overall. The racing was quite good with several very entertaining races that weren’t decided by the first bend, the crowd appeared quite good and I would have said Peterborough fans accounted for close to half the attendance.
  3. Good job Nicholls turned up otherwise it would have been embarrassing.
  4. Another excellent meeting on a track which had taken so much rain, well done to the track staff. Yet another match where I expected the Tigers to provide a hard match but I am afraid I thought they were collectively poor. Holder and Ellis apart they were fairly toothless and Batchelor was woeful apart from one ride. For the Panthers solid was again the order of the day and our rising star Jordan Palin has arisen, the lad looked very impressive last night and has learned to ride the wide line, he received good back up from every member of the team who all chipped in with good points with everyone winning at least one race. On to Thursday and a trip to Kings Lynn, confidence is high.
  5. Some rain overnight and again this morning but as Crump99 says the fact that they haven’t called it off before 12 midday indicates they are planning/working to get it on. Hopefully we won’t get anymore rain and the forecast is better for the afternoon and evening.
  6. Ostergaard only did 4 official matches for Peterborough in 2019 and was a guest in the Ipswich away match in August so he has only 1 Away to count from 2019 (plus 3 home) and his 2021 matches are 4 home and 2 away so he is one away short for a new MA in July so should stay on his assessed 4.00. Thats of course assuming the BSPL don’t revise his GSA for July 1st which they could do. July GSA are due out anytime.
  7. Space, Shape & Speed I am reliably told.
  8. Ulrich was carrying an arm injury so clearly didn’t want to go in heat 15 as he doesn’t normally turn down rides. I spoke to him before and after the meeting and he stated it was painful, so fair play to him. Again excellent team managing by Rob Lyon, really impressed with his style of doing things and a lot of what he does isn’t seen by most of the supporters.
  9. Their are no guarantees in speedway but he seems to be enjoying himself and he is improving week on week so let’s wait and see.
  10. A close very competitive match which was very enjoyable on what was a cool night. Quite a good crowd and Panthers now top of the league, happy days.
  11. We get it right on track though, when it matters.
  12. Certainly has for the last three weeks, but perhaps better to check with the club online.
  13. Rewriting nothing, it’s same old same old BSPL.
  14. I think it’s settled now by amending Cooks June GSA. As to why and the fact that it’s taken 10 days to do it hasn’t been disclosed.
  15. GSA issue 8 now on BSPL website, Cooks June GSA of 7.82 now been amended back to 7.59.
  16. Not altogether surprised the forecast is dreadful
  17. A thoroughly enjoyable meeting with some cracking racing on a lovely hot evening. From comments afterwards it’s clear Eurosport we’re well pleased with their first production at the Showground as were Kelvin and Nigel. It was nice to see Pedersen and Bomber step up their performances this week but as others have said it was a very solid looking all round team effort which ensured the Wolves went home with nothing despite the heroics from Becker and Douglas. As for the comments regarding Palin being pulled out of his last ride, that’s exactly what Rob Lyon is their for, to ensure Wolves wasn’t allowed to get anything back from the meeting and it’s clear Lyon knows what he is doing and does it very well. A thoroughly professional all round team performance and up to second in the league table. Not bad for a Dads Army so far.
  18. He was very good anyway, a credible World Final Performer.
  19. Been tried several times over the last few decades and how many of those that tried still remain as Promoters. It takes three years to even get a vote.
  20. Teams PETERBOROUGH: Bjarne Pedersen, Hans Andersen, Michael Palm Toft, Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris, Jordan Palin, Ulrich Ostergaard.WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Luke Becker, Nick Morris, Ryan Douglas, Rory Schlein R/R, Broc Nicol, Leon Flint.
  21. You know as well as everyone that something’s gone on here as the rest of the Ipswich team are on June GSA. I dare say things will be a little clearer next week when the chance to discuss it with others will reveal the real reason Cooks average of 7.59 stands for June but I suspect it’s all down to rider availability here in the U.K. and the ongoing problem with flying riders in and out due to Covid. These rolling averages are calculated by Alyce at the BSPL office, I could be kind and say it might have been a mistake on the June issue but I doubt it.
  22. I would think Glasgow will ensure he is on good equipment this year, and Osty on good gear is very good.
