  1. It’s an old team I don’t think anyone can dispute that, as to whether that will affect its ability to do well remains to be seen. Things will become clearer in May but as long as the track is set up to suit our team of racers I don’t see too much of a problem and look forward to a return of the racing.
  2. Palin is a talent I don’t think many will argue with that, but as you say Bates and Bacon have a clear advantage over most of the other no 7,s.
  3. Josh Bates final 2019 GSA is 5.20, bearing in mind he is likely to ride at no 7 how on earth can it be right to compare him with any of the other Rising stars riding at no 7 who have yet to ride in the Premiership. Its ludicrous.
  4. Of course that’s assuming they all start when they usually do, at the moment it isn’t looking too promising.
  5. Who knows, for some reason no one provides starting GSA anymore.
  6. Certainly looks like the best option going forward, I will be changing when my subs needs renewing
  7. My star again didn’t come on Thursday or Friday this week so I emailed for a digital issue and it came through very quickly, I will be seriously considering this for the future, very impressed. Paper copy arrived in Saturdays post, that’s 4 days for RM to deliver something 24 miles away, absolutely abysmal.
  8. Exactly my point, basically some teams have gained an advantage by using older Rising Stars, if every Premiership team had used a rising star with little or no Championship experience their would have been no real difference. I think Palin is a cracking young rider and in time could be very good but he isn’t at the same level at the moment that Josh Bates or Tom Bacon are, if Rising stars had been given 4, 3, 2 and 1 point starting GSA and were included in a 1-7 team total I doubt a few teams would have built the same way.
  9. Not really, Michael Lee was actually quite good on any speedway track
  10. The point exactly, the sport needs to get the tracks to produce racing not gate and go crap that does nothing for no one. Good racing will attract fans, that and getting back to encouraging teams to sign just our own locally grown talent will go a long way to avoiding problems like the Polish league rules in the future.
  11. Latest news on ET website is No Iversen or Tungate for Panthers in 2021 and each Premiership & Championship team will include one rider from a pool of youngsters introduced to each team presumably at no 7. The story is by Nigel Pearson.
  12. Knowing what Batchelor's like I suspect it was right the first time.
  13. From the BSPA WEBSITE BRITISH Speedway clubs have today agreed a start date of early May for the 2021 season. Fixtures will be published next week for both the Premiership and Championship. Plans are in place for a new concept in both leagues with more details to follow. The plans have been made to adapt to the current situation regarding Polish restrictions on the amount of leagues riders can race in, plus the ongoing challenges presented by the pandemic. There is a clear pathway for the development of British Speedway and young British riders, not just in 2021 but in the years ahead. In addition, whilst there is disappointing news about losing Swindon and Somerset for 2021, these decisions have been made by these clubs to protect their futures from 2022 onwards. They will be welcomed back into the sport next year. Another club has expressed an interest in joining the Championship and this will be explored in due course. More details regarding the 2021 season will be revealed alongside our broadcast partners Eurosport in the coming days.
  14. Clear plastic envelopes shouldn’t dictate anything, that’s the stamps job. If the RM cannot cope with current demand it should take on more staff.
  15. It’s not a lot better complaining to RM, standard computer generated email in reply.
  16. Looking like non British riders are now an expensive option, especially for the Championship
  17. Happy Birthday Phil, have a good one
  18. It was good Tim , another regular that’s always a good read.
  19. Mine arrived on time today and what a read it is. Some great stories this week, I particularly liked the Castagna, Tatum and Refs stories and the potted history of the KO Cup is an excellent series. The FIM supremo certainly had some choice words for the U.K. Promoters and to be fair a lot of what he said made sense.
  20. All I got was a computer generated general reply mentioning COVID problems. Their complaint system is utter rubbish a bit like their deliveries at the moment.
  21. I must be honest and say I have been tempted to try it, Phil have you ever thought of giving subscribers one or two free digitals to try it when renewing annual subscriptions. As an afterthought what percentage of subscribers are digital.
