  1. Something to do on a Saturday night, it’s 2 minutes away and our son enjoys it. Having recently lost the team I’ve supported for 33 years it’s good to get to see speedway on a regular basis.
  2. Hard to disagree. I was at every Bandits home meeting and can only remember a couple of decent meetings where there were multiple passes. Mostly from the gate and well strung out.
  3. I’m resigned to being out on delivery until I’m well into my 60’s. Will be a part time job by then anyway
  4. Just back from fans forum Season pass number 1 purchased by yours truly Admission prices raised Adults £17 Concessions £13 Kids £1 (infants to 15) Season tickets 15 matches £199 (inc programme) frozen from 2018 if bought up to and including 7th January. £229 after that Riders taking a pay cut to keep club alive after promoters had to pay for losses in 2018. 2019 Bandits (in order of announcement) Aaron Summers (in attendance) Kevin Doolan (in attendance) Leon Flint (in attendance) Coty Garcia Danny Gappmaier Jye Etheridge Nikolai Busk Jacobsen Gary Flint is team manager
  5. 2019 Bandits just announced at fans forum Aaron Summers Kevin Doolan Leon Flint Coty Garcia Danny Gappmaier Jye Etheridge Nikolai Busk Jacobsen Gary Flint is team manager
  6. They were bang on form at the time to be fair. Strangely one of Gapps better nights
  7. It baffles me how Danny Gappmaier has managed to maintain his team place. Shouldn’t be anywhere near that side next year
  8. Nope. I remember a double header finishing just before 11pm
  9. I’d say you’re right Taffy. I’ve been to every meeting at Berwick this year and Saturday was by far the best meeting racing wise. Some other meetings have been closer, but dull if you’re a neutral. Maybe the earlier rain helped by giving the track a natural watering, the best kind. I’m no expert, but that was the general consensus.
  10. Cardiff are in the English Premier League, Swansea in the English Championship. Try telling their fans that they’re not Welsh
  11. Probably the most entertaining meeting at Shielfield this year. Reserves superb and must be already pencilled in for next year. Good to see Nikolaj back to something like his best
  12. Maybe my old and befuddled memory, but back in the mid 2000’s when I was up every year for the Rockets Northern tours the racing was better.
  13. No surprise to me. Boxall was like a second son to Silver at Rye. He thought the sun shone out of his a*se. Whenever he needed equipment (often), Uncle Len was there. Promising as a teenager, but thoroughly unprofessional
  14. Always in the hope that I may see that spectacular meeting. I’m an optimist. Also, seeing Aaron & Nikolaj is the closest I can get to seeing my beloved and now departed Rockets
  15. I’ve been to every meeting at Berwick as a neutral this year and I’ve gotta say the entertainment has been poor to say the least. Most of the excitement has been when Chris Harris has missed the gate. When one of the highlights was Buddy the Bandit doing wheelies on a mini bike you know it’s been dull. Apparently 30 tons of shale was deposited on the track this week, but you’d be hard pressed to notice the difference
  16. At least it’s a free car park and not the £4 we were charged last night
  17. It takes the threat of a ban to apologise
  18. I’ve not missed a home meeting this year and I’m not even a fan. I’ve lost a lot of my enthusiasm for speedway since my team folded and meetings like we’ve mostly had this year haven’t helped. If this week doesn’t serve up some excitement I’ll have to consider whether I’m gonna bother for the final few meetings.
  19. I saw Dan Bewley bust a gut trying to pass last week with no success. If Kevin Doolan can’t make it stick on the fourth bend then who is? Let’s be honest, the entertainment at Shielfield this year has been poor.
  20. A remarkable result given the Comets were basically a four man team. That’s one decent side they’ve put together. It’s a shame it’ll probably bankrupt em
  21. Berwick aren’t my team, but it’s only 2 minutes drive from home and it’s something to do on a Saturday evening
  22. I’ve been to every meeting at Shielfield Park this year and that was one of the dullest. Only the closeness of the score made it interesting. Odds on heat 15 was going to go Workingtons way. Dont know what’s happened to Nikolaj, he can be much better than that. That looked one of the lowest attendances here all season. Maybe some had decided to stay in the pub after watching England’s victory over Sweden, or were watching the Swedish GP. Maybe some watching Croatia v Russia. Perhaps a good few have given up due to the dross served up this season.
