I'm only interested in team speedway. Individual meetings do nothing for me. Agree that there's something special about speedway under floodlights Apart from missing Rye House and Pie & mash I'm enjoying it. Mind you, the last couple of days have been pretty nippy which I'm not liking. Still braving shorts at work though. Gotta show these Scots we ain't all southern softies!

There won't be another meeting at Rye this year

There are two Tigers in the Championship.

Probably a few who's form dips towards the end of the season for the same reason
-
Hmmmm.... not sure about that. Still some questionable away performances.

Nailed on for Berwick, a Saturday track
-
Yeah, I know all about that. Same reason Branford wasn't going to return this year
-
Not convinced he's 100% motivated these days. Lack of meetings hasn't helped him this year.

Think Luke probably has the drop on Ben, but I doubt he's interested in anything but NL racing

Wolves have done ok with Grieves on a 3 point average, Jack Smith hasn't exactly pulled up any trees at BV

I've been watching NFL/MLB since the mid 80's and have become used to it. American football and baseball have many breaks. You learn to live with it after a while. Speedway is fast flowing, your regular 15 heat meeting should be done and dusted within 90 minutes, even with advert breaks every four heats.
-
My gut feeling is that the BMR promotion are gradually moving away from Saturday fixtures.

Overreaction

While I'm as pi$$ed off as the rest of you with some of the inane rubbish that masquerades as "banter" on this and many other threads, I'm uncomfortable with restricting fans to their own teams threads. My personal stance is proper moderation. Weeding out the ridiculous point scoring posts and a warning to the participants.

Wouldn't be any need for this if the site was properly moderated.

Americans do televised sport better than anyone. British broadcasters could learn a lot from them
-
Doubt BT would want a 20 minute delay while the riders went around the crowd collecting donations

Len Silver attempted to sign him two days after he'd signed for Edinburgh. He's a Berwick asset now, so will be a busy lad on Saturdays

Mentioning anus when you're in the bowels of the Premiership. I can see what you did there, clever. And there was me thinking you were all thick dopey carrot crunchers. -

Bandits still unbeaten at home since I moved up here 😉 -
Tracks aren't the problem, it's the bikes themselves. More difficult to handle than they were a decade ago leading to the more inexperienced riders getting into difficulties and causing accidents. Fixed race nights, home one week away the next is all well and good, but if there are rain offs (wind off at one track) it could lead to no home meetings for up to a month, maybe longer. Financial suicide for some promotions

Rye House V Kings Lynn / Kings Lynn V Rye House
Shadders replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Some of you may not remember the 2007 Premier League play offs. Rye House were fourth at the cut off date and went on to hammer Sheffield in the final after the Tigers had surprisingly eliminated the red hot favourites Kings Lynn in their semi. The irony is that once the league fixtures had been completed it was Birmingham who eventually finished fourth, a place above Rye House.
