  1. I was at the Emirates last week for the League Cup game against Southampton. At half time I popped down to the lower level to catch up with some friends. Couldn't believe how many people were queuing for food and drink at the overpriced outlets. When the teams came out for the second half there were still hundreds of people queuing. Some of them must've missed a good 10-15 minutes of the game. It's barmy!!
  2. Why do people take the cost of food and drink into consideration when mentioning attending sporting events? Take your own food and drink with you, or if travelling a fair distance buy a bag of chips before you go to the stadium.
  3. Rye promotion taking a chance stepping up with the increased costs. Admission up a couple of quid, which helps, but I really think they're banking on returning fans disillusioned with some of the poor teams put out recently. I also reckon they'll be expecting a good few Lakeside fans to swell the numbers as well. Sky exposure will help attract a few sponsors too. There are a couple of motorbike dealerships opening within the stadium. The rent they'll be paying will go into the kitty too I expect. Somerset promotion, I suspect, are nowhere near as financially comfortable as Rye's, hence this line up. It would be crazy to write them off though.
  4. Such negativity from fans of sides who haven't declared a single rider yet.
  5. Rye fans love him because he's a trier. Never knows when he's beat and a real character. One we all wanted to see back.
  6. George is well thought of at Rye and is almost part of the family, but he's not even Championship ready, let alone Premiership. I doubt the promotion would carefully put together a good side then spoil it with a rookie. Bowtell is more likely, but I think we could do better.
  7. I reckon he'll be just fine, but thanks for your concern
  8. Went right over my head that. I thought you were just being a bit dim.
  9. These people deal in £'s. They have no interest in the feelings of a few hundred speedway supporters. When housing goes up on the site in a couple of years time it'll be mission accomplished
  10. I'm not up to speed with the top league yet. Does the injury RR rule still exist?
  11. It sure is. I thought I'd heard the last of you now we've moved up to the Premiership
  12. Any youngster willing to progress should be begging for a place in the Rye House side with all that experience in the team to guide him
  13. No different to some of the threads on the PL section, especially when Morrissey Fan gets involved
  14. Doesn't help when you only have access to the track after the Rangers people have vacated during the football season
  15. Branford Rye's sixth signing http://www.ryehouserockets.co/news.php?extend.1362
  16. Fantastic news. Really rate Branford 😃
  17. Why, because he/she has an opinion that differs from yours? I don't think you've quite understood how Internet forums work
  18. I think we've got our wires crossed. I was talking about the Rye House team. Norman is under the strange opinion that somehow I'm gonna ditch my team of 31 years and become a Berwick supporter. That'll never happen
  19. I'll let you know after the last 2 riders have been named
  20. Gappmaier and Carr will be swapping places throughout the season I suspect
  21. Would help massively as far as getting there is concerned. The M5 is murder on Fridays. Away supporters better leave yourselves plenty of time. We tend to make a day of it. Visit the nearby cider farms and a couple of hours by the beach at Weston or Burnham. Cheddar Gorge isn't far away either, about 10-12 miles
