Depends what you want from your weekly speedway fix. To see some of the best young Aussie talent (albeit until they pack their rucksacks and head over to Poland), or a team made up of Brits and lower rate Danes/Swedes. Speedway is an entertainment business. You want the best riders possible over here. There may be one or two Brits who will make the grade, but many will never be above Championship reserve class. "Team GB" is a bit of a nonsense. An excuse to get the Union flags out for a week or so during the World Cup. The rest of the time we're cheering on our own sides made up mostly of foreigners.

I think it was Darren Fletcher that did the in house commentary at the British GP 2 or 3 years ago with Jan Staechman. I thought he came over very well.

By my calculations, Robs true 2016 average (excluding bonus points) as a Rye House guest was 5.07 against his 5.80 average as an official team member. That's including all PL/KOC meetings. His average including guest appearances was 5.57

Only 18 meetings a season including play offs doesn't seem much. How does that compare to Sky? I guess they'll be no Championship coverage

Spoke briefly with Nigel Pearson on Saturday night. Asked him if there was any truth in the Internet rumours about Sky pulling out of speedway coverage. He told me he'd heard nothing officially. I then changed tactic and told him I was moving up to Berwick in a couple of months and was wondering whether to renew my Sky subscription. His answer was, "I'd stick to BT Sport" I dunno about that. My youngest son won the draw for the signed replica Tatum 1991 race jacket 😉

The temp stand was demolished and a new one erected in a couple of weeks. I'm sure the new building works will be sorted in time. Still over 5 weeks to go. Don't panic people.
