Someone told me ex rider Chris Johnson supplied the kevlars for Bomber & Scott. I understand he also provided Berwick with their race suits. Perhaps BMR should've bought British instead of trusting the Polish firm they're using. Six month waiting list I hear

With just a couple of days until our long awaited first meeting in the big boys league I've a few concerns about Saturday. Firstly, Wolves have already had a couple of meetings this week and will be sharper. As far as I know only Rob Branford, Bomber and Scott Nicholls have had any competetive laps, but nothing this past week. Don't think Edward and Davey Watt have had any recently. With gating being especially important at Rye I can see us being left at the starts. Personally, I think it was a mistake not to hold a challenge meeting, but with the ongoing situation at the stadium that would've made it difficult. Secondly, those of us who were at Rye on Wednesday would've been disappointed at the progress on the stadium rebuild. I hope fears aren't realised, but I can see only see a Wolves win.

Better any kind of meeting rather than go into the league season unprepared.

Had Virgin Media for almost 3 years without a problem. Unfortunately it's not reached Berwick yet, so I'll be looking at my options when the move has completed. Not sure if BT infinity is available up there either

No problem with any rider choosing to race abroad and not here, but they shouldn't be allowed to sign for a GB club when their Polish/Swedish seasons are over. That's just taking the pis*

Depends what you want from your weekly speedway fix. To see some of the best young Aussie talent (albeit until they pack their rucksacks and head over to Poland), or a team made up of Brits and lower rate Danes/Swedes. Speedway is an entertainment business. You want the best riders possible over here. There may be one or two Brits who will make the grade, but many will never be above Championship reserve class. "Team GB" is a bit of a nonsense. An excuse to get the Union flags out for a week or so during the World Cup. The rest of the time we're cheering on our own sides made up mostly of foreigners.
