Rye House Vs Swindon 08.04.17

Good point. It's long been argued by some that putting loads of grip down would make the track too difficult. Well it doesn't harm the Monmore track which is a similar size and shape. -

You're forgetting Grondal replacing him in heat 12 😉 -

Don't say I didn't warn you. Can't believe how anyone thought this would be a cakewalk for Rye. They must be idiots. Swindon were always going to take advantage of RR, it was the game changer. The four RR rides brought in 10 points. Add to that track specialists Doyle & Grondal plus Morris who was good value, not to mention BWD and it was a no brainer. Then you add to the mix Robson & Watt having a woeful start to the season and the loss of Branford.... What were you all thinking? Then we come to the track. What's the point of having a team of racers and serving up a track as slick as that? I knew it was gonna be bad when the tractor was packing down the start line area before the meeting. Crowd was down on last week, quite a lot less from where I was standing. Atmosphere was very flat. Last weeks smiles and laughter turned into scowls And grimaces. Last weeks meeting was a false dawn it seems. Wolves are woefully weak at reserve and that made it easy for us. With a Grondal in their side they would've probably won a point at least. Pleased to see my suggestions of selling raffle tickets among the crowd and an ice cream van were taken up. They even had a food stall on the third bend. Only highlight was Ellis Perks who looked aggrssive and will improve even more. Now we're all but out of the KOC, at least we can concentrate on avoiding the relegation play off. Lots to ponder for the management and promotion before the feel good factor falls off the edge of a cliff. -

If that's the rules in that post then surely Rye have priority as in rule 3? -

How on earth did Ellis get saddled with a 7 point average? -

It says "agreed, not "allowed" on the website. RR for Ellis means they are much stronger, with Morris, BWD, Bellego and the reserves allowed to take his rides. Puts Swindon as favourites to go through in my opinion, even if we had Branford. I wouldn't be surprised if Swindon sneak a win tomorrow. -

Ellis rode for Ipswich at Rye in August 2014, scoring 6+1 from 4 riding at number 7 Previously, at the end of May that year, he scored 1 from 3 riding at number 6, falling in his last ride and withdrawn from the meeting. In April he had 4 rides in the league cup, scoring 6+1 from 4 including a race win in heat 2. -
Rockets v Poole announced for BH Monday 28th August Pleased with that line up, especially Suzi Perry 😀

Anything more than a 10 point deficit after the first leg would be tricky to pull back. I've always thought it's easier to defend a lead in the second leg. Onus is on the home team to get heat advantages. Away side just need 3-3's -

There's no guarantee that you'll get them. Yesterday could've been a one off, curiosity. If it was my business I'd want to wait a while to see if crowd levels are sustained. Speedway supporters are a lot more fickle than football fans and at £18 a pop it may put some people going every week -

If I know the BMR promotion they'll be taking all that in. Raffle sellers amongst the crowd is something I was banging on about in the Silver era -

For a team meeting it is for me too. Easily matches the Ben Fund attendance from a few years back, which was reportedly over 2,000, but that was made up of supporters from many clubs -

I met and spoke to a few Rye fans who haven't been for years. I'm sure there were many more. Keeping them coming will be key. Last night was very a positive start. -
Lot to do yet, but didn't hear any complaints about the stadium. Parking was a problem, but that's out of the promoters hands.
