Bikes warming up... Track is clear... Ref and manages still faffing about... Why aren't the riders lining up at the start?

I was always under the impression that the referee controls the meeting at the "advice" of the home promotion. So if they want a drawn out meeting to boost burger sales etc. That's what they get... who knows though? The ref is (Sheffield's) Dave Watters... back to the sin bin for him!

I can't help but think that if this match was against any other team than Sheffield it would probably have been called an hour ago

Doesn't matter what time you start them as long as you start them on time and get the meeting moving along once you do with the threat of rain around... none of this happened

To be fair the track is looking a hell of a lot better now than it did when it did look like a ploughed field a short while ago. .. it's almost as if this Andy Meredith fella knows what he's doing!

Some people are just so ill informed and want to believe every negative thing they hear about the sport.

It's a new first for me... I've never seen them blading a track while it's pissing it down with rain!

As my mum used to say to me... if you're well enough to go to the Speedway, you're well enough to go to school!

I wonder if Tom Brennan is thinking of an early exit... like he did when riding for Team GB the other week?

If they'd started at 12, as advertised, they'd have got this in, no bother... 10 minutes per race!

If there's one thing I can't stand (and yes there are many things) it's the lack of urgency when the weather is dodgy and judging by some of the comments I can hear in the back straight stand I'm far from alone. 10 races in 98 minutes... that's some going

Heat 1 was fine... you're just feeling sore because you've been mugged off by your captain

The track was in decent nick at 12 noon as proved by the sprog and heat 1, could have got at least 6 races in before the rain came... sun's out now anyway, will probably be dusty by the end!

Yes I am... I've travelled over 100 miles to get here! Would have been better if they'd started at 12 noon sharp!

Same here... too much hanging around at a TV match, maybe a sun delay too

So, it's stopped raining... I wonder if there's any danger of putting a speedway race on?

He wasn't at the weekend when riding for himself... he should take the weight off and pop himself in a wheelchair

Are the first 2 rows of the south stand on the bends cordoned off because it might be slippery?
