How can you have a world competition like the Speedway World Cup which is shown all over Europe on live television and not afford to pay for reserves for the teams. Correct that, there were reserves there but were not allowed to ride. Where is the money going for a three hour live programme. . The "Joker " idea should be chucked out immiediately. The riders are being paid a pittance for their skills . The time must come that money from TV and attendances should go back into Speedway., No wonder there is a shortage of riders. Even Sweden is now suffering from a drop,.they are even swopping their nationalities. For youngsters it's not just worth it with the expenses and such poor returns. You can earn more on a game show in an hour than all the riders would have done tonight.

I think you will find that Chris rode on after the incident with the starting pole in Poland which happened in 2001. He actually rode for Ipswich up to 2008.. The incident that finished his career was the crash at Foxhall with Sam Simota.

The problem is Speedway live matches should not be on television. Televising Speedway has done no favours in this country. The sooner it is taken off the TV the better. I would think the gates have gone down by two thirds since the Elite League has been on Sky.

Why don't you ask Belle Vue. When then move into their own stadium their race night will certainly not be a Monday. Years ago they always raced on a Saturday night but they only race on a Monday as that is the night the greyhound people will give them. For All entertainment Monday is a bad night whether Cinema , Theatre or any Sports presentation. How many football teams ever play on a Monday night unless it is Televised.. Was there ever a boxing tournament put on on a Monday night or a darts competition.

How can the costs be kept down with two meetings a month. Do you think the landlord is going to half the rent. I would think EL racing on a Monday night there would be less star riders than there are now with poland on Sunday and Sweden on Tuesday. Besides Monday night is the worst night of the week to promote speedway.

What a great idea for all clubs to race on a Monday night. With a live speedway match on Sky how many people do you think will be there. In less than a season every team would be bankrupt.Mind you it would get rid of guests if every team was racing on a monday.

With the results this week it seems that Coventry are a far superior team than Poole yet the Bookmakers make Poole slight favourutes
