As I'm bored on nights this is my all-time fave Swindon septet. Raba, Spinka, Karger, Silver, McConnell, Stangeland and Busk. Best I've seen for Swindon. Adams, Ashby M, Crump P, Ward, Nilsen, Petersen and Andersen.

Successful teams have value in their starting averages, something lacking in this team at the moment. If there's no lomit on DU, there'll almost be two leagues full of the same riders!

Any major sport should have promotion and relegation. However, we all know in speedway it's manufactured nonsense.

The team average situation at first green sheet time is "to be clarified" This is direct from one of the promoters and ties in with Chris Louis' press release. So truth is, nobody knows yet what you can do when team and rider averages naturally settle.

Be fun when those riders over twelve get a real average and teams have 3 or so points to play with!!

First speedway meeting for a very long time that I've enjoyed watching. Amazing what a difference it makes when riders give a toss.

He missed out on 3 league wins. Rode for Halifax in 1965 and joined Swindon in 1966 - Halifax won the league in 1966. Left Swindon in 1967 to join Coventry - Swindon won the league in 1967. Returned to Swindon in 1968 - Coventry won the league in 1968!!

Fair play to the Poles. They know they have the best hand to play and that riders won't jeopardise the top dollar they get there. As regards legality, how is this any different to any other contractor agreement where it's stipulated they can't provide their services elsewhere? Simply conflict of interests surely? Wouldn't get this issue if speedway was a proper team sport with one rider, one club .
