Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final
screm replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If reports are accurate on the update site there could well be repercussions for Glasgow Speedway and at least one of their riders -
In the article Mr Barrie says the now infamous post by Pod stopped a family coming to the Somerset meeting, which lost the club money at the turnstile, track shop and snack bar, fair point and that particular post was indeed unacceptable. Thing is there is a family of four who sit along from me who were none to happy about Mr Barrie giving results of the SoN meeting in Togliatti during the Somerset meeting, so much so that they were saying if there is a SGP on they would stay at home as they dont want to hear updates from the centre green. Lets see what happens later

All the makings of a very entertaining meeting. Berwick now hit a run of regular home meetings, all of which need to be won if they have any ambitions of reaching a play off spot as points on the road are no guarantees. Happily the weather has played ball and we can look forward to a decent meeting. https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2655819

Cardiff 2019 Saturday September 21st
screm replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
For so many years Cardiff is the one SGP I have always wanted to attend but I will be honest the hotel prices have put me off, but this year I will be attending, flying to and staying Bristol. I know there is threads on best tickets, seats etc for just one more time guys, where is the best place to sit, not to bothered on price. -
Fromafar is right though, the official site regarding home meeting announcements and previews is abysmal at times with the meeting previews not coming out until and Friday night or a Saturday morning.

IMO no Championship should be charging anymore than £15 for a full paying adult, £1 per race seems fair to me.

Somerset will claim that Grobauer is with holding his services so he will automatically receive a 28 day ban, for that reason Somerset can cover his a sense with good old R/R.

Bigger joke screwing their former manager/promoter.

In the past any newcomer has come in on 5pt assessed average, there are one or two things that can change though. I am guessing the figures you have quoted would mean the new rider will have the 5pt average. Gamble at this time of the season especially in Leicester`s position but they will get a new asset into the club at least.

Bet he has no problems when adding up what benefits he is scrounging though.

Anything that gets our local ignoramus banned I am all for.

Leicester`s move to replace Josh Bates collapses. LEICESTER’S move to sign Victor Palovaara has collapsed. But the club have also revealed how they are in talks with a newcomer to British Speedway and are confident a deal will be concluded within the next few days.Palovaara was due to come in as a replacement for the injured Josh Bates.Watling JCB Lions asked permission from Edinburgh, under the impression he was their rider this season. But after leaving Armadale after a short stint he reverted back to parent club Glasgow who have told Leicester they can only sign him on a full transfer.Leicester boss Stewart Dickson said: “We fully respect Glasgow’s wishes in this situation but regrettably we won’t be taking the matter further.“We are not in a position to purchase the rider at this time and we have informed Victor. It’s unfortunate for the boy but he understands.“We are now in talks with another rider new to British racing and we should have him in place for next weekend in the big home meeting with Sheffield.”Leicester’s home meeting with Glasgow tonight is off due to the weather and a new date will be confirmed in due course.
