I think the point Laura was trying to make is she had just sat round the AGM table where all clubs were agreed the importance of cost cutting, now it appears clubs are throwing money at the riders. No problem for me as there has always been the have and the have nots, and Workington proved to be the best out there last season so they have proved to others it can be done on limited budgets.

Yes that may be very true though the current situation sees many people who would normally follow Rye House or Lakeside not able to attend speedway, possibly lost to the sport forever, the BSPA have just an AGM that is meant to lay the foundations for the future. Compromise ?

If there is a track available at Rye House, which it seems it is, and there is a promotion able to run speedway there and there seems there is, would you not think it would be in the interests of everyone to put one with the other and keep speedway going, irrespective of the arguments between the former Rye House promotion and the BSPA

At the end of last season it was clear Berwick and Gappmaier were going separate ways, now with the points reduced to 38 that could bring Danny back into the picture.

Bit daft from Gary May to come out and describe the way he lost out on Wright as ludicrous as I`m sure somewhere down the line he will have signed a rider right from under the nose of another, it happens. Cant blame Charles wright either, he got a deal from Somerset, then got a better deal from some other team. Time for somerset, May and Wright to move on.

Chris Harris will be a decent signing and a heavy scorer at Championship level, lets just hope he can make ends meet.

If rumours are true and Eastbourne are about to join the Championship, it would make all kinds of sense for Nicholls to go there. Being based in Brighton will help as well.

Great signing for Sheffield, even in his short time with Ipswich at the end of last season its obvious young Kemp is quite a talent. He was always going to be one of the most sort after signings this off season and Sheffield have won the race, so credit to them for doing so.

BSPA have tried a multi year plan before, that didnt get much past year one. Lets hope they have better luck this time round, I never thought all of the problems we have would be sorted in one three day AGM, lets just hope its at least a start.

According to the press release both riders will be introduced at next Wednesday`s fans meeting. That would seem to rule out the likes of Nick Morris.

Good luck to any rider who wants to ride in Poland, but its time for our BSPA to stand firm and rule that no facility will be given when the inevitable fixture clash comes along. For most riders Poland will always be first choice but there`s a number of riders who find out the hard way that its not always sweetness and light.

Its never stopped certain teams signing riders on false averages before.

Not sure Berwick council do any thinking on any subject full stop. Speedway being at Sheifield must be of benefit to Berwick Rangers, though the mess they are in at the minute, off field as well as on, I`m not sure anyone would care.

Completely agree, I think people are quick to criticise Buster but as chairman just how much power to change does he actually have. Maybe controlling three clubs will help in that direction but at the end of the day he is one of a number of promoters who all seem to want different things.

After taking four and a half points out of the limit I would get used to it, riders averaging around six points are going to become very valuable. Thankfully my team have built teams full of riders like that for years, ironic that with the points limit as it is now they may not take to the track.
