  1. Spot on, can`t argue with any of that. As Shadders points out there was new material on the track with no noticeable difference in the actual racing, apart from the races that featured Harris.
  2. Even after losing Rune Holta Torun must be kicking themselves they seem to have let this get away.
  3. Regarding the four man teams with different bike sizes that is already happening in the Northern Junior League which I see on a regular bases at Berwick after the main meeting.
  4. I much prefer the rolling averages though that are worked out over a longer period rather than the month to month ones that are open to abuse as we have seen in the past. Take your point with averages though, but I don`t see another system that is at least as good/bad as we have now. Lowering the team averages will only lead to the top riders losing out, making riders like Sarjeant etc even more attractive.
  5. Great in principle but probably unrealistic in practice though there are teams who are at least starting to attempt that and the work Neil Vatcher is doing with the junior riders is excellent.
  6. Giving the career he has had Sarjeant should be a trump card at reserve for Glasgow, signed on a low average and still on a low average would suggest he has had a lot more meetings like last night rather than Friday night. He will end the season on a low average oddly making him an attractive signing for someone next season, so his underachievement for Glasgow will give him employment for someone else, only in speedway.
  7. I struggle to understand this kind of thinking as all of NKI Lindback and Kolodjei deserve to be in next years SGP as they have all done what was asked of them in the qualification rounds.
  8. Welcome win for Berwick last night and surprising at the ease it was achieved as apart from Chris Harris the rest of the Glasgow team team were a major let down for them. Clearly its at reserve where Glasgow lost this, you can probably make an excuse for Jack Thomas at his stage of career but not Sarjeant in fact watching him last night I wonder why teams bother with him at all, very poor. Congratulations to Theo Pijper on his paid max, if only Berwick could find a point or two on their travels they could just about challenge for a play off spot, sadly I don`t see that happening so that leaves only two home meetings left though I hear that there could be one additional meeting at least in the form of an individual meeting for either junior riders ( Stars of tomorrow ) or more established riders ( Bordernaplis ).
  9. Maybe yes maybe no, but there is no denying that all three have done what was asked of them so they deserve to be in the SGP series next year.
  10. Not surprisingly Nathan Greaves has with drawn from this meeting so Glasgow will use R/R.
  11. Much better now weather wise, clouds are high and the sun is out.
  12. Having seen the photos of last nights accident I find incredible that Nathan Greaves will be racing at Berwick tonight, but racing he is.
  13. That`s one thing for sure, when you comes to PR and promoting, Glasgow are streets ahead of most other clubs from any league.
  14. Couple of hefty showers over night, currently just about dry but very humid.
  15. Tai Woffinden and Craig Cook are the first two names on the Team GB team sheet.
  16. Nathan was kept in hospital over night for observation but he has escaped without any broken bones, whether he will take his place tonight remains to be seen.
  17. Forecast still not the best, no football at Shielfield tomorrow so covers at the ready I think. https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/0/2655819
  18. You can forget the winning and the drawing bit, though I think you will have better luck with the beer.
  19. Good grief, you take defeat badly, riders are allowed to overtake other riders that includes Leon Flint. Young Flint was a regular match winner earlier in the season and was due the odd poor meeting. Birmingham have been hit hard by injuries, get behind your team, they are still in a very good position.
  20. Recent meetings between Berwick and Glasgow at Shielfield have taken many fans back to the speedway used to be, big crowds, decent racing and value for money. After recent meetings lets hope we get back to that this Saturday though we could do with the forecast improving a bit. https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/0/2655819
  21. Certainly has a way with words, and sometimes most of them make sense.
  22. Having already taken a calculated gamble by putting Cardiff back to September, later than ever before, would BSI take another one by introducing another GP in this Country. Personally I`d love to see a GP go to Belle Vue and it would sell out very quickly so maybe the profits of one would be off set against the losses from the other.
  23. Me to, but surely that would have a detrimental affect on the crowd at Cardiff.
