  1. And likely to turn off supporters who might just be willing to donate, one day lessons will be learned, but that day wont be today.
  2. Either way the important thing is to get money in, whether that be a sense of duty or a tax break, after all on the face of it Berwick Speedway is a relatively small business so any money is of great benefit. I wish the club the best in getting the donations needed though speedway in general is failing, whether donations from customers can save it for the long term remains to be seen.
  3. While I take your point about clubs being propped up by multi billion pound tv money, the reason for this investment is the basic product ie Premier League, is the most exciting and marketable football league there is which I think is the point that has been made already that if you get your basic product right, is this cases speedway on a Saturday night, then investment should with a bit of luck follow either by sponsorship and/or people coming through the gate.
  4. You are suggesting that those who don't donate aren't proper supporters.
  5. Riders have poor nights on purpose, manipulating their average to keep their job safe and earn reasonable money in doing so.
  6. Don`t worry you`ll get your win, and probably quite a comfortable one at that.
  7. No breaks, but his ankle is swollen which means he has to rest this week.
  8. The second day for any rain offs are in the rules so on the face of things all is above board, but the meeting wasn't rained off so IMO there is no reason why Vissing couldn't make it to Newcastle tonight, but like has already been posted Vissing has form and did the same thing to Berwick last season, thankfully Berwick had the good sense to get rid of him very soon after.
  9. Tero Aarnio has finished second in today's Finnish Final, the meeting was won by Timo Lahti.
  10. Jason Doyle making his return to the track in Poland today, so he should make his return for Somerset this Wednesday.
  11. Seems strange that Vissing misses this meeting, Rene Bach rode in the same meeting as Vissing last night yet seems to have made it to Workington for their meeting with Scunthorpe.
  12. Martin Dugard has posted on Twitter that his farther passed away this morning. Condolences to all family, friends and everyone at Eastbourne speedway.
  13. Not a very deserving champion as IMO he shouldn't have been in the re-run of the final in the first place. Spoiled a very good meeting.
  14. Janowski was on his way out after a couple of rides, he could yet win this.
  15. Lambert was never in the team for today and his absence was explained and arranged a time ago.
  16. I know this is going slightly off thread threat but it occurs to me the here we have the Polish Final, also tonight we have the Danish Final, Swedish Final and even the Finnish Final tomorrow, would this not have been a good weekend to stage the British Final or is that to much sensible thinking.
  17. Could be wrong but I thought they were taken alternate years.
  18. Deary me you take defeat badly, I applaud those who have taken over Team GB for at least doing this meeting in the first place, hopefully it will be something that will happen on a regular bases both here and abroad. I don`t see how going to one league would make this team any better, quite the opposite in fact.
  19. Update on Nathan Greaves http://www.wolverhamptonwolves.co/news.php?extend.3004
  20. I think Jon Cook made some kind of a statement during last nights meeting, anything interesting ?.
  21. Talk about the highs and lows of speedway, confidence must've been high going into last nights meeting especially after handing out a pasting to Sheffield the night before. Maybe not a win but I doubt many in the Scunthorpe side of the pit would think they were about to get a pasting of their own.
