  1. Wouldn't the only way that Newcastle could get a guest facility was to claim Robert Lambert was with holding his services, up side would be the Diamonds get guests, down side is that Lambert would get an automatic ban.
  2. I hear the scenes in the Berwick pits a few weeks ago were quite hilarious.
  3. Looks like it was called off around lunchtime, our time, I would guess it would be just about impossible for Lambert to make it to Newcastle in that time. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/708765/w-lublinie-przegrali-z-pogoda-spotkanie-przelozone-na-czwartek
  4. Looks like Robert Lambert`s meeting in Poland has been postponed due to rain, re-arranged for this Thursday.
  5. It was a comfortable enough win in the end for Berwick though it should be remembered that Newcastle were well in this right up to halfway, in fact they lead early on but it was another welcome win. One positive thing about our away meeting at Ipswich this Thursday is that they should have the use of Nick Morris as Swindon dont have a meeting that night, though Morris will miss our meeting with Sheffield on the 16th of this month.
  6. Can anyone confirm who is taking the No7 position for Berwick, official site says they intend using Jack Parkinson Blackburn but are waiting on an injury update as Jack fell in a meeting in Prague during the week, update site has the No7 position as TBC.

  9. Weather set fine for today, currently dry and bright and forecast to stay that way. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2655819
  10. Tomorrow night sees our nearest and dearest pay us a visit, sadly they will be without their top man who is away racing in the World Under-21 Team Championship. Ricky Wells comes into guest while news is awaited on Berwick`s guest to cover Lee Payne, teams as follows. Berwick 1 Nick Morris 2 R/R 3 Jye Etheridge 4 Kevin Doolan 5 David Howe 6 Danny Gappmaier 7 Newcastle 1 Ricky Wells 2 Ashley Morris 3 Stuart Robson 4 Ludvig Lindgren 5 Steve Worrall 6 Ben Hopwood 7 Alfie Bowtell
  11. Reading the posts from people who were there last night it looks like another page has been writing in speedway`s epitaph, one thing is clear though, riders nowadays will not race in wet conditions. IMO the average speedway fan knows when a track is waterlogged and its raining there is little chance of racing, same to when there is heavy during a meeting your average fan will know that an abandonment is coming but the scenes at Peterborough last along with much the same stories around other tracks means many are turning their backs on their clubs. Now, fair enough to Peterborough for knocking £5 off the next meeting but don`t the Peterborough promotion realise that the damage has already been done where some of his customers simply wont return for the next meeting and probably any there after.
  12. Best of luck to Leon for tomorrow, hopefully one of these two links will work for those wanting to watch the Final live. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSR7P69PdTY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4TM9ahtgVk
  13. Interesting to see how Berwick go tonight, having won the last three at home that must help with confidence but they haven't done all that well in away meetings at all this season. Workington is relatively similar to Shielfield so if they are going to do well tonight could be the night.
  14. Direct message Scunthorpe Speedway‏ @SpeedwayScunny 2h More We may possibly have a surprise for you regarding tomorrow's Double Header at the EWR. No more clues... but keep your eyes peeled for news. Guess`s anyone
  15. While it great to see Berwick winning again at home this wasn't the best of meetings mainly due to the slick conditions which make overtaking virtually impossible and also the delays before many races with tape touching, unsatisfactory starts and riders taking two rides on the bounce. Typical that just as our season is coming to an end that Berwick find a bit of form and are winning, still it might be something to build on for next season, very decent performances from Gappmaier and Etheridge. Good bit of business if true, though you would've thought that Berwick would make some kind of an announcement.
  16. Congratulations to Robert Lambert on becoming the new European Under-21 Champion this afternoon.
  17. Weather is dry and bright at the minute, one or two showers around for later but nothing that will affect the speedway. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2655819 With Gappmaier moving back to the reserve position for tonight I hope he can get back to the kind of scores we saw earlier in the season.
  18. Berwick riders in high demand this week as last night saw Jye Etheridge guesting in Leicesters win at Belle Vue where he scored three and one bonus. Its very silly to put all of speedway`s ills at Buster`s door, though I do agree with Cresent Girl that he will be replaced as Chairman at this years AGM, by who though is a completely different argument as you will struggle to name another promoter out there capable of coming up with the radical changes needed and anyway wouldn't any change need the backing of fellow promoters so its not likely to happen anytime soon. More of the same old same old I`m afraid which is turning fans away in their droves.
  19. Must admit I don`t see the average age of the Berwick supporters getting younger, quite the opposite in fact. Seems like what happens is the very young come, normally with parents but once the teenage years and the 20`s come along those fans disappear largely, probably finding something else to do on a Saturday night rather than speedway.
