Edinburgh v Workington Championship 19th July 2024 7.30pm
screm replied to eide67's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Justin Sedgeman will be out for a minimum of 3 weeks. -
Wouldn`t be surprised if Oxford are about to make another change at heat leader and need the extra points to do so.
-
Odd very odd, I`d back Drew Kemp to beat Luke Killeen in a match race on any track and in any conditions. Maybe more changes are on the cards.

Are there not enough mitigating circumstances though to save them from a ban. Its not as if they could just jump on another flight. -

If this is his attitude going into the match I would doubt there`ll be and good racing between Cook and anyone else. It will be interesting to see his score and performance, especially as Workington captain, surely he should lead by example. -

If the account is genuinely his, and I believe it is, here`s Craig Cooks opinion on tonight's match. He does himself no favours at times. Craig Cook @CraigCook111 · 3h Due to the Microsoft issues we are missing 2 of our riders. Workington forced to use 2 NL guests. Workington did suggest a restating due to the situation out of their control. Tonight’s meeting is over already! Save your money. -

And not a burger in sight. -
So his major announcement was that he hopes to be back for Cardiff and he`s going to play some records.

Great to see Craig Cook back after missing the Ben Fund at his home track. -
Hi everyone, Just an update; Yesterday at Workington I was signed off medically due to mental exhaustion. After extensive consideration over the last couple of weeks, I have reached the regretful decision to sit the rest of the season out from speedway, as I am not in the right headspace to A. perform at my peak, or B. safely attack tracks. This has been an extremely difficult decision to make, but one I believe pertinent to my overall wellbeing, as I know I cannot continue in this way. This is something that has been building for a while, it has affected my mental focus no end, and reached a stage where I can’t keep trying to push through it. I can only apologise to my respective teams, fans and sponsors, and wish them all the best as the season continues. Taken from Facebook.

Speedway of Nations 2024
screm replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thoroughly enjoyed my time in Manchester, giving the weather I thought the racing was good, especially Saturday, obviously having a Team GB win help somewhat. Much has been made about ticket pricing, and I agree that for the four meetings last week it was on the expensive side, I`ve long been of the opinion that less equals more where if you keep ticket prices to a sensible level you should sell more tickets, this goes for SON but especially for the Cardiff SGP. It was disappointing that for the Final there were empty seats in the main stand and the temporary stand on bends three and four not even half used. I hope that Belle Vue will be used for more big meetings in the future be it SON, SWC or SGP and I look forward to attending. -

Steady drizzle for the last couple of hours, hopefully this will clear before race time as I've seen enough of the rain for one week -
Update from Tate on Facebook. Update After a tough first week I am doing a lot better now. I have been up on my feet doing a little bit of walking. The doctors are very happy with my progress and I hope to be out of hospital by the end of this week. Also another injury added to the list I have torn my Gracilis mussel off my pelvis but they have said it won't need surgery and should heal on its own and be back to normal in a few months. Obviously still in quite a bit of pain but feel like I’m getting stronger every day. When I am released from hospital I will need to come in every 2 days until the doctors are confident we can clean and change the dressings ourselves. Then we come back for the 6 week check up. Hopefully by then I will get the all clear and I will be able to sit on my ass for the 20+ hour flight back home to Australia. Thank you to everyone for your messages and thanks again for those who have come up to visit me. Getting the news there is going to be NO long term damage is a relief … bring on next season. Doctors report 6,7,8,9 left lateral rib fracture - will heal by themselves Fractures of the spine T5 T6 T7 T8 T9 bottom of the rib cage -they are compressed however the ribs will brace them and hold them in place so they would expect they will heal perfectly fine L2 L3 L4 lumber part of the spine wings on the side are broken off - will heal by themselves with time No damage to the spinal cord thankfully Where the Chain adjuster went into his left cheek ( buttocks) -Doctors said you actually got quite lucky it only went through the subcontainious tissues without involving the muscles. The exit wound has been stitched shut The main concern is making sure the large entry wound doesn't get infected as it heals. This will take the longest to heal as we would like it to heal on its own. The latest MR scan of the pelvis showed up a couple of aductor muscles have been torn at the pelvis they are the muscles that bring your legs together these are subtotal (like a very nasty sprain) and they will heal up in time The worrying one or most damage was done to the Gricillus muscle It is torn through and through and totally torn off of the pelvis the TNO surgeon said they won’t operate at this point. They may want to go in and rejoin it but he thinks it’s highly unlikely
