This could be a cause for concern on the viability of the new stadium. For those people who have proof that Swindon was previously getting a lot more spectators I would urge you to write to the planning officer Oliver Phippen with evidence and explain how Speedway is a much more viable business (supported with planning policy) in contradiction to the applicant's statement (Swindon Motorsports). This is where speedway does itself no favours with its refusal to publish attendance figures. There's no doubt Swindons crowds in tbe last few years at Blunsdon were a lot higher than 500. Same goes for Coventry and even Cradley when they ran NDL at Monmore were getting sizable crowds.

British Speedway needs to focus on keeping the tracks its got open instead of wasting time trying to reopen ones when the climate is simply not viable to do it. Like Coventry, all noise but they don't have the money and it will never get enough punters to pay it back. Why don't these people just accept their clubs had a good innings, but are now finished and get on with their lives? Thank God the people of Oxford didn't have your attitude. Oxford's success pretty much proves every single point you made as utter nonsense.

Swindon have no chance You keep making nonsense up! We've already had a conversation like this on the Wimbledon thread when you tried to claim this and you were proved completely wrong there as well. There is absolutely NO doubt over Oxford's future. It's a business currently making a healthy profit, they get good crowds every week and have a lease that doesn't expire until 2032, with a high probability of that being extended if Kevin Boothby's latest comments are anything to go by. Why you keep lying to suit your own anti-speedway agenda is beyond me. Do you get a kick out of it? But why don't YOU tell us all what the speculation over Oxford's future is? Enlighten us all as maybe you know something everybody else doesn't.

Forget this fairy tale of clubs like Wimbledon, Swindon and Coventry reopening - it's a fantasy. There's no money to do it and not enough interest in the areas. Speedway needs to keep the ones it has open. On 7/2/2025 at 7:45 AM, Bojangles said: Where did you get that utter nonsense from? You're just making up stuff to suit your own agenda. Boothby has a 10-year lease, running to 2032, and there are already talks about extending that. Speedway is a big part of Boothby's plans, mainly because the speedway is still making a healthy profit. The ONLY doubt is whether Oxford run in all three leagues again. Attendances are still extremely good at Championship (1,200 ish) and National League (800+) level, and have only waned slightly at Premiership level (but still at around 1,200) - mainly due to results I would imagine. There is zero doubt about whether Oxford will be running next year - what a totally uninformed thing to say, simply said to scare people without any evidence whatsoever. 9 minutes ago, LisaColette said: Are they getting confused over the rumour about Oxford potentially dropping the Prem? They shouldn't be.... as it's already been explained to them once. They are just using it over and over again as a source to suit their own agenda, and hoping nobody calls them out on it. P.S: Good luck to all involved with Swindon. Edited 4 hours ago by Bojangles
