Would starke be a gamble?

That would be a very positive spin.

Gamble the understatement of the year. Rather run with 6 than sign him

Stick to your bus driver job, would be no good as comets team manager wanting to sign starke even if was a reserve

I believe for it to count as gambling there has to be at least a chance of a positive outcome.....

Starke's 2024 average in the top 5 for Glasgow is 3.38 (4.36 with bonus).

Leibmann's 2024 average at reserve for Workington is 2.49 (2.92).

If Workington want to win things why wouldn't you sign Starke for Leibmann?

Unless there's someone better on a 4.00 average obviously.

You must have had blind folds on, yes gino looked good but 30 years old and has not made it yet, but lightcap only 18 and has potential,  but a raw talent,  too much of a Gamble for this year, but going forward would take a chance and he will be an asset for the club,  but for both riders a visa could be a problem,  not sure if either has finished high enough in the American championships to qualify for a visa at this stage.

For what we need right away gino is a much better option!Who was the better rider at the ben fund???  Clown

Mainly because I was referring to Tate's replacement.

Personally, I feel Workington shouldn't replace Celina, but if they were to, yes, he could make sense.

If Workington replaced Zischke, Leibmann & McGurk with Riss, Manzares / Starke & Scott they'd be amongst the favourites for trophies imo

thats a really nice idea . but with changeing 3 team members , would we have to re declare under this seasons points limit or could it be done . . really all we need id Sam and celina to get out the gate . both riders have the speed when they have made the gate . more so celina . it woould be a shame to see them both out of the team . i dont think workington have a hire and fire system like other clubs and are faithful to their team . all celina and sam have to do is make a few starts  and the rest should come together .OH , and santa to stop thinking about his next holiday  !

All 3 new signings have equal or lower averages than the riders replacing, so could make one change or 3. I don't expect Scott to sign, I'm sure Oxford want him as a 2.00 rider next year.

As for Celina & Sam, how long do you wait for them to make the starts? I've seen clips of heats & Celina is certainly on the pace, but that doesn't mean she's scoring points.

Workington were very loyal last year & look to be this year too. Poole on the other hand, would make any change in order to win. It's one of the reasons they've been successful over the years.

You can change 1 like for like, however if you change 2 no matter average then total team must be at or under total team allowance, hence why we had to lose Ace as he would have taken us over the limit, we also had to do it before Jack Smith's new average came into play

And how many times do people need told riss has had many offers and keeps saying no

 He rides weekends in Europe

You are right, but wouldn't be surprised if his situation changes because his Polish league team (Landshut) are rock bottom of the league and only have 2 meetings left (28th July and 3rd August) with no extra play off matches to come.  Riss would therefore only have his Oxford PL meetings left, riders always like to be kept busy up as long as they can in a season.

Comets have a guaranteed 9 meetings left plus potential for BSN final x2 (unlikely I know) and potential play-off meetings.

Can't think of any other available/suitable riders who are already setup in the UK this season, which cuts down on signing-on fees etc.

Glasgow's situation was totally different Ivacic is on a 6.00 average replacing Starke on a 3.46, You only have to re-declare under the limit when changes are not like for like. I.e average is equal or below to rider they are replacing.

Otherwise, nothing stopping a club replacing a rider on a Wednesday, then swapping another on a Thursday.

Sam does not appear to have moved on at all from last season. Celina is very tidy on the bike but like Sam is let down by her gating , she also visibly does not appear to want to mix it in first corners and knocks off the throttle. I don't believe either will be in the team next season based on their form to date so it is really down to whether the promotion see us as playoff contenders and what further ambitions they have should we make them. Some fans will be happy with were we are for our first season back in the Championship while others will want us to push on and achieve what we can which will help to maintain fans interest as far into the season as possible. One would think the latter may well be more beneficial financially.
