If they are changing from speedway to road racing at least they won't have to bother with a planning application for change of use.

So can anyone out there help me out? I'm a bit confused by a couple of recent incidents, both involve two riders racing lines converging onto the same bit of track.

The first was Tobias' exclusion against Redcar KO cup, Ace Pijper on a fast wide line has Tobias sweep in front of him on a slower inside line, Ace could see what was happening but held his course and rode into the back of Tobias, and falls as a result. Referee decision Ts exclusion.

The second is Kye Howarth overtake of Zac Cook, Zac on the outside has Howarth comes clattering into the side of Zac who slowed as he struggled to avoid coming off. Howarth goes on to win no problem.

So would Zac have been better off falling off?

If Cook wanted to end his season early or fork out a lot of money for mangled bikes then he might have technically been better coming off but I'm not sure if Kyle actually did touch him so the ref might have ended up excluding Zach anyway (personally thought it was a wee bit dirty from Kyle and wouldn't have argued if he did get excluded in this scenario)

For the Ace-Tobius one it just depends on the ref, most fans on here seemed to have to think Ace should have went and I'm sure a few refs would agree. I was 50/50 on first watch of the incident and every replay shown made me change my mind so it can just be down to luck, Tobi was the rider on the outside at Poole and he still got excluded for example even though Kyle moved onto his line a bit.

Yeah for me,
Ace should’ve been excluded with the Toby incident.
I just about agree with the Howarth Toby one as I think Toby could’ve done more to stay on.
with the Zach Howarth one I think it was past tough racing, and there was cause for Howarth to go. Left Zach with no chance and how Zach stayed on I no idea.
do you have to jump off the bike for their to be an exclusion? I think in cases like the Howarth Zach one, common sense could be used?

Speedway is full of inconsistent referees etc.

Max fricke went inside Leon and only went off his line by a few yards and got excluded. Chris Harris went inside Richard lawson and hit Lawson's bike after he had crashed and Lawson got excluded.

At Edinburgh Nick Morris got excluded when Edinburgh showed the referee an ultra slow motion replay but a week or so later that wasn't available when Luke Harrison was excluded.

The way I saw it was that the Tobias/Ace move was in essence simply a block pass, accurately carried out be it close/harsh, and Ace had options. Ace should have gone.

With the Kyle/Zac one it was always going to be close/harsh, but the manoeuvre was poorly executed (there seemed to me to be significant contact). But on balance a racing incident, part and parcel of the spectacle we love to watch. If Zac had fallen (any which way) it would have forced the ref to exclude Kyle.

Both incidents were on the edge racing, fit for a final.

So no Zach Cook for the 2nd leg at Poole. He mentioned in the Glasgow match interview he and his brother Ben were flying back tommorow being Monday

Does that mean he is (technically) withholding his services?  The season doesn't officially end until 31st October and he's booked his flights before that date?  What are the rules regarding this situation?

Zach will be there, you really think our captain would miss our final meeting. Ben on the other hand maybe on his home, he has had a tricky season with injury.

Ben has said in numerous interviews that he is flying back first and Zach going back after he's done all his meetings.
