I have actually noticed a huge influx in other forum users calling out his amateur hour commentary since I went all in on it. The snowball is building…

To be fair....

To the casual observer watching Speedway on TV, Kelv could tell them anything and they will still be none the wiser as to how accurate the information he is telling them is...

It's only us fans of the sport that spot the mistakes...

His enthusiasm for the sport will be the main trait picked up by those watching who know nothing about Speedway...

I mean calling Dan Thompson Luke Killeen for 3 laps before being corrected by Louis is just another one for the chalk board out of plenty tonight alone. He is a British commentator unable to tell British riders apart unless someone is telling him in his ear.

It is truly embarrassing but we are all just used to it as we watch speedway all the time.

Think Kelvin is colourblind given the number of  times miscalling riders.

Is that the standard then, yeah? Just turn up and waffle whatever you want? He reminds me of Martin Tyler before he was binned from Sky Sports. There is no enthusiasm there he is just turning up for his money. It is so obvious Kelvin does absolutely zero research on riders or recent form/events. He just rocks up, waffles nonsense and gets out of there with his cash. Easy money in fairness I am probably just jealous.

Only Mr Pearson could make the sport seem exciting and he holds the mantle as the most enthusiastic commentator the sport has had since the Dave Lanning era who certainly brought something to the sport and those derbies with Rayleigh.

I don't know if you realise this but WBD just don't care about Speedway!

Neil Vatcher .

That is a shame. Need someone who has actually ridden competitively and can get the best out of the riders. That sour faced individual could not manage a tiddlywinks team. God only knows why those in charge allow him near this sort of event. I am sure many a current rider or retired rider could do better.

I know Kelv isn't everyone's cup of tea...but is he alright? I've always thought he was pretty good, and he was dropped in the deep end with the main commentary role, but it feels like it's one thing after the other this week. Even in the main comms role in the last couple of seasons he hasn't been this poor.

I'm not normally a big critic of Kelv.   He does a decent enough job on the Premiership, but he's having a stinker this week.

I know he's been thrust into the main commentator role, which was never his job, and he's having to commentate from a studio in London using the same (not great) pictures that we are getting, rather than being at the meeting.   But he is very below par this week.   He doesn't know who most of the riders are (including in the British team).  Surely he could have done some research on the riders and jotted down a few talking points, rather than admitting to not knowing anything about them.

Then again, our other British representative, Mr Morris, isn't covering himself in glory either.   Rushing riders out with only 60 seconds to go, when one has only just had his bike returned to the pits.     You get 60 seconds after a high speed crash, but Morris can stand out on the track for 15 minutes conducting unnecessary track grading and overwatering,

Mr Morris is not running the show tonight.
