topaz325 Posted yesterday at 02:11 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:11 PM The Workington Comets season gets underway this Saturday afternoon at the GT Tyres Arena when the team face Scunthorpe . The Scunthorpe side sees the return of former Comets Simon Lambert and Luke Harrison and should provide some tough opposition . The Comets are lacking track time with some riders yet to race competitively so will be eager to get a slide on in anger.

Neila
Looking forward to this and Redcar on Friday, as I've got withdrawal symptoms of having no live speedway to watch 😄
SteelShoe
Yeah it's about time we had some Speedway to watch, into May already and not had a meeting . Hope we can get something from the weekend. Friday a tough start at Redcar, the Bears track was very dry last Friday with lot of dust on the back straight, nothing much grip wise out wide for riders to use so gating was vitally important. Hope their is a bit more moisture in the track this Friday.

Most Comets are lacking track time as you say...which is rather worrying regarding this weekend. But perhaps more scary is seeing the two who are regular racers for Belle Vue and the Brummies are not scoring well at all. Perhaps the top league is not really a good comparator but low scores prevail.

Jye had a guest booking at Berwick last week and did quite well
bigdave
For those that cannot make it to the GT Tyres Arena, this meeting will be live streamed by BSN
