A little unfair on Cook there. He has been riding very well in the championship. I’m not at all surprised he scored a maximum he has definitely been building to it.

Not really, his forays into the Premiership in recent seasons have not been very successful. He is such an enigma though - the point I was making is that this had to come against Birmingham!

Cook does this now and again. Didn’t he come in to a Premiership team least year and hit a ridiculous score on his debut? 19 or 20 something like that. But very quickly reverted to type and didn’t sustain it.

Shame the Aces didn't go for him but well done Oxford for giving him the chance .

And he is riding only at reserve so 5 points a match is the only target, not 15...

It is the highlight of my Tuesday mornings to wake up to the latest excuses from Tolley - too slick at Oxford and the "depth" of the track was wrong last night! In the long history of deluded promoters (and it is a long, long list) he is fast taking over as the undisputed No.1. He can't fathom out what went wrong last night - which is surprising as most of us who were there can!

That's sound like an offer of help that the club can not miss. I know that some track volunteers will be there on Sunday from 8am. Shall I make sure they know you are coming?

Exactly what I do, always a highlight seeing what he has to say and how he delivers it.

Tolley, and Rogers, are everything that is wrong with Birmingham. Fair enough, Tolley has kept the club going, but they are both clueless when it comes to Speedway. Anyone could see that when the team was built it wasn't going to be any match for Ipswich, Sheffield, BV, Leicester and probably KL. Exactly the same with Oxford, you could see that as seven riders together that was a poor team and the problem there is Schroeck. 

That said, between Schroeck and Tolley I reckon they could take charge of Lublin and even with their current team make them bottom of the league.  

If it meant the Bees could come back and Tolley was in charge with Schroeck as TM I'd rather we stayed shut.

I have to admit it was a pretty embarrassing interview, he really appeared quite clueless, just listing a bunch on excuses. The riders are professional sportsmen, if the track doesn't suit them, then they need to make changes to their bikes, it's the same for both teams.

I have massive respect for Tolley for running the club & certainly hope he doesn't bankrupt himself. But my sympathy for them is quickly fading, a lot of their issues are self inflicted with poor team decisions. Dropping Zach Cook last year was a poor choice. This year Kerr, Sedgmen & now Cook, all of whom are stronger than Vuolas & Hume, have all signed for Prem clubs did Birmingham try them first?

Maybe we'll never know, but if they were asked when they didn't have a Prem team, I don't think they'd have turned the Brummies down.

Now I like Hume & if a team only has 3.3 available, then he's an acceptable signing, but as Birmingham are so far under the limit, got to wonder could they not have signed someone stronger? Batchelor, Palovaara, Polis, Barker, Allen or Mountain for example?

Can you get someone from championship that is on an assessed average? Victor would definitely be worth a punt if you can

For what reason? I wasn't criticising the track, the track team or the volunteers!

Exactly.  Starts with a bang and soon turns to a whimper.

Very odd why he let Leicester down on the eve of the season but suddenly ok to pick and choose and drop his clubs.

He certainly made the difference to Oxford yesterday.

Hopefully someone will take a chance on Gusts and he comes good just while Cook goes missing yet again.
