Keith Huen does a brilliant podcast, it’s on YouTube somewhere, where he is talking about road racing way back but it was the same in speedway, where the greats like Sheene or Robert’s or whoever had far superior factory equipment to the rest of the the field and this was the same for mauger Olsen briggs or whoever where as today all the top riders are have access to the best equipment so it’s harder to be so dominant today as it was way back when, zmarzlik’s bikes are no faster than anyone in world speedway, he uses same frames, same carbs, same clutches, often even same tuners as everyone else, he is simply a better rider that has no advantage at all where as you didnt have that situation with Olsen or mauger and particularly briggs who anyone will tell you about his Jawa deals, way back riders were cheating with fuel additives etc which was wide spread but today it’s too strict and nobody can get away with it, I’m sure they try, like madsen when he suddenly burst on to the GP scene and people were asking questions and then when they started doing more checks he not been the same since, was he cheating ? Well he got form, remember silencer gate ? Oversize engines are pretty much a thing of the past at top level and they eliminated the fuel cheating by riders filling up from one tank before race but not in uk where it’s open to cheating, upshot of this post is zmarzlik is the greatest rider this sport has ever had and likely to have, he is exciting, calculated, brave, fast, he is the complete rider of which we have had flashes of in others but never to this degree, but unlike in other sports he is beaten regularly but until you do it everytime he will always be at the top and eventually the statistics will back this up and it’s not cause he has the best equipment because he doesn’t

Spot on...

Never ever, watched a rider so "full on" in every single race...

Regardless of position...

He is, you could argue,  borderline "reckless" at times, but that is due, I would think, to his inherent belief in himself to emerge out of very dicey situations, in front...

Truly magnificent to watch if you are a proper Speedway fan..

Anybody who did not admire that performance from Bartosz tonight is not a true speedway fan.It was breathtaking. As was Dan last night.

stick to complaining about tickets and queues that’s GB speedway.

whilst shelling out a kings ransom for somewhere to kip...

Never understood this, in the times we stayed there, we had rooms in the youth hostel in the center for £10 of which some riders kipped on the floor in our rooms,we stopped in a premier inn around 15 mins in the valleys for £50 a room and one year we took the camper and stayed in Cardiff bay for £40 and lots of other did too, we got a taxi to the center which we shared with other fans so was about £5 each, think it was just lazyness of some folk to do some planning

Are you sure about that I take screen shots of ticket when flying ,Airports accept then and never had any trouble.

Definitely true with regard to the Etihad, also Wembley, the code is changed constantly.  Airports as you say do accept screenshots though. for now.

I think Zmarzlik will walk away with this series now

Kurtz has done well so far but can he keep the consistency…. Fortunate maybe to have two Grand Prix on his home track and get big points

Three there's a round at Wroclaw still to come

Which is another track where zmarzlik struggles if that’s the right word ? The next round is Gorzow where lately it has become a proper gate and go place and even the home riders struggle to pass but not the main man he loves it

100%, cost me less than two hundred quid for me and my lad for two nights in a Travelodge five miles out of Cardiff the night Dan won...

Unfortunately, too many hoteliers took the piss and didn't help the future of the Cardiff GP..

So he'll be finishing only second in Wroclaw then, Brady has a chance to close the gap!

Had I been without the Mrs or the lad I could of stopped for free in the center, one of my customers owns a few nightclubs and bars in Cardiff so could of stopped there upstairs, it certainly helped with parking anyway

I’m no expert, but I’m assuming the camera work is not the problem, it’s the director/producer broadcasting the wrong cameras during races.

Not watched all of tonight’s GP yet but have the agree the standard of TV production does not seem as high as normal especially as they brought their usual OB Provider TVN over from Poland to provide the facilities but may have had to use UK based cameraman and Vision mixer many of which will have not done Speedway before

Not watched it all...

But drone cam not great as it misses too many "close encounters"...

And, still, too many close ups of the rider in front when racing is taking place behind...

Yes it looks like Zmarzlik will be World Champion again, the others are too inconsistent and also just as important Zmarzlik for all his fearless riding seems to stay injury free unlike some of his competitors

He does crash occasionally, he had one last week in Toruń although it was more of a roll over than a crash

Don't care if you think the gp

was great here no place should have two rounds imo

This year Cardiff was earmarked a GP like previous years. And for the first time Belle Vue was earmarked. Two completely separate GP's.  Then the deal with Cardiff fell through and the powers that be decided they wanted 10 GP's in the year and so it was decided for convenience to tag a second one onto Belle Vue, this ensuring 2 GP's in UK took place as originally scheduled.  All done at fairly short notice.  Almost certain it won't happen next year..just the one at BV.

Freddie seems to have hit a vein of consistency in the GPs but unfortunately it’s below zmarzlik’s level of consistency, zmarzlik has put all the pressure on Kurtz, if Kurtz handles that pressure he has a chance  but zmarzlik knows one slip up from Kurtz and zmarzlik will sail off in the distance and not just luck that’s planned, he has put Kurtz right where he wants him, will Kurtz buckle ?
