I don't understand r/r @2. Means Sayfutdinov gets his extra ride in heat against Boughen, is that really the best use of your top rider?

R/R can’t be at 1 anymore as Emil highest average

This means that every race Emil is in he will be paired with King Ellis or Brennan and also hopefully win heat 8

You aren’t going to have R/R at 5

If you have it at 3 or 4 means could mean you are weakening that position if the other rider isn’t going well

I think 2 is the best place to have it

I'd personally put r/r at 5 before using at 2.

As for the argument against using it at 3 or 4, "you are weakening that position if the other rider isn’t going well" but wouldn't that happen anyway, if Brennan or Ellis doesn't go well they've weakened the 3/4 pairing without moving r/r there?

I personally look at who the riders would meet in their "extra" ride, Sayfutdinov is the last rider I'd want in heat 8, if you expect every Ipswich top 5 rider to beat Boughen, then that's only a point gained if Sayfutdinov beats the second string.

Out of curiosity what do you think of King being put at 5 to pair with a reserve in 3 of his rides?

King always flies at the AFA, he was the best rider to put there!

Only Oxford riders to choose from. And tungate and Janowski are completely out of form so far this season.

Janowski is but always scores well at Lynn so I'd imagine he wasn't interested rather than not been asked. Ippo must have approached him surely.

There is always a tendency to put r/r at 2, I would agree it isnt the best use of Emil who should beat most of the Kings Lynn team.

take the blinkers off, waste of time having RR at 2.

I disagree. Whichever way they use R/R, there’s still pressure on King, Brennan and Ellis - putting it at #2 covers the “protected” heat, and - as Hawkins says - it works for the other riders.

I would like to think he has been asked and declined.
I think most Ipswich fans myself included are expecting a defeat on Monday. But listening to the excellent pride of the east podcast this morning it seems the lynn fans aren’t confident either

over two legs this could be absolute classic clash

That’s why most teams do it then!

We are lucky to have basically 2 number one riders so it makes sense to me

Emil and King

Emil and Brennan

Emil and Jenkins

Emil and Ellis

Much rather that then say r/r at 4 and each rider paired with Brennan

Emil should be the best rider on show no guarantee obviously…. So in his 5 rides if we can get 4-2 every time that’s a 10 point margin from a third of the races ….. stick r/r at 3 or and you run the risk of getting more 3-3’s

Its personal opinion but I think its the right move

The point is that most teams would not do it for their second heat leader, particularly one as str9ng as Doyle who is completely wasted in ht 8

Then why aren't you going then Jason? KL should win the home leg and it's about how close Ipswich can keep it. There must be a better choice of guests than Simon Lambert out there, he is so out of form this season

Yes having a stinker of a season. Now dropped to reserve at Scunny.

The strength of Doyle to an extent is irrelevant as its the replacements that will take the rides
