Is it worth giving young bowdon a call?

If you mean boughen, then no, yes has/had the potential, but got a bit lost whether it's a mental issue or something else, you have to remember his disappearing act a couple of years ago at worky , still haven't got to the bottom of that one !!!

Really it's the promotions fault for signing a rider who will be riding in Poland every home meeting. Poland have priority so if they want their rider he goes there even if he ends up not actually riding. It's not he like signed for a Polish team mid season either he was riding over there before he came to the UK so Workington can't be surprised.

Wrong, it’s hardly the promotions fault that he was then signed to ride for Tarnow in mid April, 6 months after he signed his Comets contract.

You can’t blame Fraser either as he is only wanting to better himself.

Speedway may be a team sport but you have to look after number 1 imo.

When signed by the Comets it was only anticipated that he’d be riding in Poland in the U24 league on Tuesdays for Motor Lublin.

This could be the beginning of the end for him if workington are to play 2nd fiddle when they had signed him 1st. Poland will soon crash especially for the youth as in 2026 the U24 league will cease giving riders less reason to race there. If this is to continue to happen the promotion will have to ship him off as his scores dont really dictate he should stay. There is one or two riders who could replace him. Hopefully tomorrow the team can get a confidence boosting win against an unusual full Plymouth team. They should be dealt with easily to give the club a good start to the league campaign in what is a strong CL in 2025.

Bonus for Worky. It getting beyond a joke that standard of rider dictating to GB Clubs. He was in Poland last week-end for Tarnow didn’t get a ride in their home meeting and got 0 from 3 in the away meeting just let him stay there he will be out on his ar#e shortly. They wonder why fans are giving the sport a miss.🤔

Guests and missing riders is killing the sport.

Totally agree. Signed for Comets before getting a chance at Tarnow. Would rather be No 8 there than getting good race practice in the UK. Believe he is missing next week too.

Come off the big northside roundabout and head down towards the docks. Just before the dock entrance at the end of the road, you turn right through some gates you’ll see a car parked there for security. Head straight down the road and you’ll see it on your right hand side.

Good close meeting good to see jye and jacob having a good day,but what a bad decision by the ref in ht 2 vinne might aswell have ran into the plymouth guy who clearly stopped thinking the race had finished but took  evasive action and looses out for his efforts.those who stayed at home because of the rain missed a treat .

A good meeting yesterday I thought. Decent amount of passing but god the comets need to do something with the starts they just can’t seem to get out of them! Grahn was a superb guest and scored more points than bowes would have. It shows that hook is the one who’s been putting the laps in down at northside between meetings. Decent crowd more than I expected.

Strange refereeing decision in heat 2 because Cluff can’t seem to count!! Didn’t jeopardise the result thankfully, onwards and upwards!

Well the rain unfortunately came about 90 minutes before tapes up and at one time was pretty heavy. All the weather updates gave it to pass over by about 2-45 pm and so it proved. The rain actually helped the track condition and the forecasted timing will have been in Steve Lawsons thinking when he was carrying out his pre meeting track watering regimen.  Must admit I was a bit surprised when we got dust around heat 7.

It was great to see the Comets finally get their league campaign underway on what must be some kind of record late start date in recent seasons. It was a good solid performance from all the Comets which was encouraging. Special thanks should go to Jonatan Grahn who changed his flight to Poland in order to guest for us in the absence of Fraser, he pulled off a couple of eye catching wins in his tally of 8 points. It was rewarding to see Tate win his first race at the GT Tyres Arena in 2025 !  almost unbelievable when you consider the form he produced there in the early part of last season prior to him crashing at Belle Vue. Hope we see his full confidence return now and he can start thrilling us all again like he did last season, go Tate . Also really pleased for Jacob Hook who achieved his best score to date in British Speedway, he gave his best in every race and deserved his reward.

With the possible exception of Lasse Fredriksen the Gladiators were very much a one man team yesterday. Nicolai Klindt was different class . I think that has to be the most dominant display with the possible exception of Dan Bewley in last seasons Ben Fund meeting that I have witnessed at the GT Tyres Arena. Not many riders have ridden turns 3 and 4 so wide with so much speed and control !. He was obviously enjoying himself on a track where he could display his supreme motorcycle skills in complete confidence.

UTC!
