He would have to win all three and Zmarzlik have a stinker in one of them. I can't see that happening. Even after a very average night for Zmarzlik. He still showed the class of a world champion by coming 2nd in the final. and in doing so, he only dropped two points to Kurtz. 9 points different isn’t there ? So would need Kurtz to win all three (60) and Zmarzlik to come second twice and fourth in each final(50). I wouldn’t say that’s unachievable.

Kurtz needs to win all three and as I said earlier Zmarzlik, as long as he makes the final in all three then it's his championship. Kurtz will IMO crumble under the pressure more than Zmarzlik. He knows if he doesn't win every final its over. It's a tall order to win five GPs in a row. Has it ever been done before? If he does, then he without a doubt deserves to be World Champion. Zmarzlik showed tonight, he was no where near the fastest, but he showed what a true champion he is. Not a lot of people would have given him much of a chance of progressing from the LCQ me included, but he proved us all wrong with one of the best overtakes of the season and then went on to get a 2nd in the final and kept the damage down to two pts Whatever the outcome. It's been a fantastic battle between them both And to see Kurtz in his debut year taking to Zmarzlik has been a joy to watch.

If Zmarzlik gets to the final in all three it isn’t enough theoretically if Kurtz wins all of them. 6 point deficit from 1st to 4th in each round. 1st - 20 2nd - 18 3rd - 16 4th - 14

Don’t think it is a straightforward as people are making out there are many permutations that could decide outcome.

JoeW436
I can’t say I’ve followed Brady’s career particularly closely but he’s always seemed a decent rider but why do you think he’s had a steep upward trajectory this year?

He hasn't he's been getting better and better over the last 3 seasons. He's was world class level last year, I'd say he's been at this level for the last 18 months.

Very true, surely he must have invested heavily in equipment over the winter though knowing he is in the SGP?

The Cheese
Kurtz seems to have the mentality to actually compete for the title which others appear to lack. I remember when he first started in the UK that he often went missing in the big heats so it's obviously something he's developed over time. Still a tough ask to catch Zmarzlik though. That he had an off-night but still managed 11 points from his 5 rides and then finished 2nd shows the quality and consistency needed to challenge him.
