What about Northampton?

Unfortunately Mayfield don’t have a great record with Speedway organisational skills.

The GPs that they promoted operationally were a disaster with a number of important things that they forgot to arrange and in the end Discovery got them out of a mess by arranging the missing bits and bringing their operations team in.

Even on the day little things were not arranged like buffet and food for officials , sponsors not getting their pit walks and badge allocation with track marshals names not on lists for practice just for the event etc

With all due respect, where are they now flagrag?

And now Dean is sticking the boot in too. Come on people at least give them a fair crack of the whip before writing them off as disasters waiting to happen ffs.

They’ve at least shown up to keep the show on the road whilst those that lay on an excellent buffet have buggered off.

Bizarre.

Anyway, veering off topic here. Northampton. Can anyone upload the pics of the Holders there today? I don’t do Faceache.

Edit: Just seen Haza’s post. Thank you

I care for the wellbeing of the sport and that’s all,as of this moment mayfield have been anything but credible about their speedway venture, they haven’t even said they are the company doing it. So forgive me if I don’t share your enthusiasm for another possible speedway disaster, I’ll be happy to be proved wrong

Could have been passing through along the M1 and thought let’s go and have a look at the Stadium and stir a few people up it’s a photo that’s all . And it could be AI

It’s possible, but hopefully it’s a sign that all is good and an announcement is imminent.

Maybe they're the mystery promoters 😁

When are Ipswich announcing their “great new GP Number 1” Flagrag?

Mayfield seriously need to up their sausage roll game before anyone will take them seriously!!

The GP Number 1 has I believe fallen through due to the continued delays and not being offered what they originally thought was being given.

I obviously want Mayfield to make a great success of Ipswich just hope that they up their organisational skills.

Getting the thread back on track Chris Holder lives only 20 mins away from the Northampton track so they were probably just passing by and thought they would go and have a look . The info I am hearing is that construction wise plans are in place and the work required to build the Speedway facilities is being done by a construction company but being overseen by Phil Morris and Andy Meredith to ensure it’s done the right way.

If it’s 6 teams in the Premiership that really isn’t that much difference from 9 in the Championship really…I don’t get Championship speedway fans being so anti Premiership , it’s all speedway at the end of the day and I’ve happily watched both leagues and enjoyed both …I’d just like speedway to survive and hopefully thrive again yet it seems a lot of fans don’t want that

Mayfield didn't ruin the GP's.

FIM Leftists did by diluting the product when exluding Russian's and then replacing them with bang average out of depth riders in a box ticking exercise.

Going by the time some say it takes to get there if he is 20 mins away that must be about a mile down the road ...:D

I believe Wolverhampton could be persuaded if they had the right person to talk to entain on speedways behalf, you know like someone on the board of the greyhound association, I wonder who is on that board that could possibly help speedway out ? https://www.gbgb.org.uk/sir-philip-davies-appointed-next-chair-of-gbgb/

What makes you think CVS is not the right person to talk to them?m

Because firstly CVS isn’t interested and it’s time he came out and said so and more importantly CVS has no say in anything about greyhounds, Mr Phillips does and is part of not only of the board of greyhound racing but is also part of speedway futures Ltd

If CVS could get things back up and running he would. I’ve not seen any indication he is no longer interested.
