Good luck to whoever promotes at Northampton hope it is a success. Mark Webber and Jason Crump?

Webber would certainly have the kind of bags needed, can't imagine Crumpie would be looking to put anything in if he was involved given he has seen over the years how much promoters have lost money wise, all be it he earned well from his time in the UK. And we are running a fantastic opening night competition.... So to win it. Just answer this simple question... Does anyone know when it is??!!!!! 2

I hardly think a Premiership Promoter will know... After all... If they did, they would surely have told their punters by now wouldn't they?
Fullmax
6 hours ago, THE DEAN MACHINE said: Forget Northampton, use the IOW, track and stadium ready to go, can run on Thursdays, ferry crossings being the major downside but surely something can be worked out, will they get big enough crowd ? Maybe in the summer months but out of season probably not but you’re going to lose a lot less money than Northampton and it’s not going to set you back £200,000 to get it up and running One of the most expensive car ferry routes per mile in the world would surely be the biggest problem with Ryde Speedway. Great set up and ideal for holidaymakers already the island. Always amazed at the exorbitant cost of travel to the mainland.

Yea without subsidy it’s £160 return per van, slighty cheaper for smaller van but still extortionate for the couple of miles that it is but still going to work out a lot cheaper than getting Northampton off the ground

Teromaafan
Getting very fed up with this cloak and dagger situation with Northampton. I actually don’t care now if they are they running or not. Five or six teams in the league, still crap. Regardless of where they are in preparation, at least make some sort of announcement to generate a degree of interest. I set up as a consultant a few years ago and never thought to keep it a secret and not tell anyone. Would love to hear the business strategy (if they have one?) of those in charge.

To be honest I’m not really bothered, I went to the IOW twice last year and will be going twice again this year, I raced for them for 2 years and was one of my favourite tracks to get too, I thought the ferry crossing was part of the fun
thebaron
Looks like Northamptons a dead duck by the stock car announcements online. Come on it was never realistic or sense just to rush a team into Brafield, just to "plaster over" the Premiership problem. With nothing firm on Ipswich its looking like "gruel around the top table in 2026". A Four Team Tournament is whats left it seems.

If they ran Four Team Tournaments, and Ipswich do run, at least there will always be a spare team to provide those oh so important, vital, guests..... Not all bad news then eh?

Racin Jason 72
Maybe if they had listened to Chris Louis who informed the BSPL four years ago that speedway was welcome at Northampton and would be a vital additional track. then we wouldn’t have this last minute rush to launch and the delay of fixtures etc.
THE DEAN MACHINE
Well that’s another week of silence, the eventual news better be all singing and dancing greatest speedway news ever Edited February 20 by THE DEAN MACHINE

You would also think that they would have been far more vocal in their pursuit of opening the track over the past few months.. It may not happen, but lots of updates would at least have put it into the consciousness of the local populace... With, maybe next year, it coming to fruition.. They are just absolutely "Barry White" at hype and marketing... And, having done it for a living, so much of it costs absolutely "eff all"... Especially even more so now that we live in a 24/7 social media age.. Edited February 20 by mikebv
