Ben Barker riding shortly after having his appendix out, charging onto the track with a replacement bike for Nicholls, directing track prep... meanwhile somewhere in Poland, Klindt is sat with his trotters up!

So what was Garry May saying there about Klindt? Something about using a reduced facility so as not to get Klindt a ban? Either a rider is "withholding his services" or he isn't, it's not for the club to decide is it?

Have to agree, Klindt doesn't get a ban because Plymouth don't mind being weakened!

Turns out their guest did well, but doesn't sit right with me.

Nice of Gusts to actually be making an appearance for Oxford.

BSPA need to start taking a bit of control when approving signings imo, Oxford this season have taken the utter P. Knudsen and Gusts have missed more meetings than they’ve ridden. Need to start blocking signings when you can clearly see they’re going to miss so many fixtures it’s taking the mick out of the paying public.

Perhaps make the rule clubs don't get a "facility" when a rider races abroad, clubs would have to choose between a rider who puts GB first, or risk having to use a 75% guest all the time?

Isn't that what happens now?...

Having to use a 75% guest is a facility isn't it?..

If you were not allowed to sign riders who are needed elsewhere (either by another club, a country, or at an FIM individual event), then you would have teams full of NDL second strings and reserves...

Running Saturdays will be good for crowd levels but also will mean home and away teams may not have their seven riders there...

Much the lesser issue given that the challenge in getting numbers through the doors is the one to prioritise.

Genuine reasons for guestfests, or non genuine reasons for guestfests?

It makes zero difference....

Virtually every meeting has a guest, for a myriad of reasons, therefore just run them on the best night you can get people to turn up to watch....

Looks like Plymouth are doing OK out of Saturday Speedway...

Watched it BSN, that track was terrible, especially bend 3 and 4, plus lots of dust, and people moan about the Poole track

As a neutral I’d rather watch a Plymouth meeting than a Poole one.
Darryl Ritchings had a cracking race which hopefully gets him a deserved team place somewhere

There are many tracks very similar where genuine passes are rare but Poole gets more moans than most because we are successful. If the Plymouth meeting last night was at Poole we would have an endless stream of moans about the track. When you are at Kings Lynn tomorrow see how many genuine passes there are.

King's Lynn are on my banned list, I don't got there anymore on the account of them calling meetings off for no real reason!

I thought you only used to have a "facility" if a rider was injured, on FIM duty or doing some compulsory return... there really doesn't seem to be any reason not to have one these days, riders don't even have to be riding in another country just resting up and preparing to ride.

No, its because over the years and sometimes nowadays you have had blue grooves, bumps, holes, dust and all manner of bad stuff. It's a shame because once upon a time it was a great track.

It seems that the make-up of teams has no bearing on whether some folk will turn out on a nice Saturday night in the summer wanting some entertainment for their family... which in one respect is great and you've pulled in half your available floaters by running on a Saturday. Now if you could combine that with credible teams in credible competitions that would bring in your other half of floaters who are looking for more than just entertainment but a sporting spectacle. Hopefully then you start to build some traction with the media etc.

As there are at many tracks not just Poole.  It seems to go through stages of being bumpy then smooth then bumpy, it is usually better later in the season. Agree it used to produce better racing than it does now, the same can be said for many tracks particularly Kings Lynn.which used to produce fantastic racing years ago.

Exactly when was that, as everyone been moaning about it since 2010ish onwards? Also more bumps 3 years ago than now.
