lewy
Hopefully some radical changes to the present set up which obviously is not working, what have we got to lose by trying something different. One league, smaller teams etc,we all know what can be tried.

Read the post,we can't carry on as we are or do you think things are going well for British speedway. Loads of ideas being floated around you must be aware of them or do you live in a cave. As I said something radical

It's a worrying thought that the current set up might be the least worst and needs to be maintained. IF we have a combined league, it's unlikely that it will stick to Mondays and Thursdays race nights so it's highly unlikely that Premiership riders who race in Poland will continue to ride in the UK. This would be the death knell of the sport as there wouldn't be enough riders and there would be a huge drip in standards. Some way has to be found to shire up the Premiership to six teams. Can Oxford be persuaded to stay, even if it means dropping their Championship side. Would Poole or Glasgow be prepared to move up if they get to retain their current race night - messy but the last card in the pack.

As I said something radical  Unless you live in a cave the ideas are just in the sky, nothing that actually makes sense with different clubs running on nights others wouldn’t and stock cars taking presidence in other stadiums and not enough riders when you leave GP riders to make teams full where you would need an additional rider to make your ‘squad’ as people don’t want guests so if you get injured you would need to bring in another ‘squad’ member.
crescent girl
This subject ranges far beyond the Championship. There is already a similar topic running in "Speedway News and Discussions"   Maybe the above comments and contributions could be transferred, and people interested in all three leagues couild follow it?

For what it’s worth here my thoughts on Championship.Scrap BsN Trophy 2home2away fixtures K0 Cup.Guests only for injury.Nothing for riders missing while riding abroad (FIM events excluded) No8 or NDL rider only.Top 4 Play Off.Time limit applied to rain offs or points awarded.(TinHat on).
Neila
Imo 2 home 2 away looks good but clubs won't want it, as most losing money, bar a couple of meetings, so if 2 home 2 away, that's more money lost, if 1 home 1 away means less potential loses, and sponsorship could make up the small difference, sometimes less is more, should be home 1 week away the other week, 2/3 meetings at home a month from may to August

And if wasn't for all the volunteers there would be no speedway for them.

Get more regular fans if weekly home speedway meetings. I remember when Poole were in the Prem and they did one week at home and next week away. Didn't really work, people get out of the habit. Edited 13 hours ago by LisaColette

Riders dictating when they can ride, wanting more money than the Clubs have incoming through the turnstiles, reducing the meetings does not help the sport, fans want to see regular speedway(whether it be weekly or fortnightly).Back too basics product wise and riders wages would be a start.I’m sure the entertainment factor wouldn’t be any worse. The sport needs credibility too attract new fans.IMO ps Im talking Championship Speedway here. the Premiership are a different story ( their fans seem too think it’s Ok)  Edited 8 hours ago by Fromafar

Probably agree lewy, but he does a lot of work for the club, so not as simple as jumping in Gary's car one night a week 1
