Leicester v Sheffield POSF 2nd leg Monday 22nd September Live on TV

Recommended Posts

Actually been warm when the sun's been out, which it has here near Ipswich for much of the day.  Great drying weather with the wind but the TV company need certainty, not "well it might not rain and be fine" kind of answer.  If TV not there it may have been a different decision.

So good decision to call it or not? Sounds similar to the weather here in Ipswich… I keep debating if it’s too windy to race or not

I can't say if it's a good decision or not. I'm not a track curator and conditions at the track might be different to where I am. All I can say is that my garden was dry at 2.30 pm yesterday when it started to rain. It wasn't heavy rain and it had left off by about 8.00 p.m. What I will query is why the decision was taken so early, especially as Sheffield is only 70 miles away up the M1.

I wonder the difference between TNT and BSN and if the latter would have given it more time… oh well, decision made so such is life.

Let’s all panic early. It happens every time.

Doesn't TNT stream the same as BSN?

TNT production costs significantly higher than BSN maybe as much 10 times as much for play offs with additional cameras being used

Not been in Leicestershire today but know when I left at 8pm last night it was very heavy rain with roads flooded

Absolutely, to prove the point I just checked an old 1983 Leicester programme, our last league matches of the season was 23rd October v Belle Vue and there were still another BL fixture on 25th October between Halifax and Cradley.

Good point & well made. Using the same programme, could you count up & let us know how many fixtures, home & total the Lions completed that season.

I'll work the split out later as I'm at work now, but in total in 1983 home, away and individual/challenge meetings involving Leicester in 1983 comes to 63 meetings. I also note the League season didn't start until May as it was cup competitions/challenges from March until then!

I would imagine it has nothing to do with being in a panic and everything to do with giving the broadcaster 24 hours notice as per their broadcast agreement.

Everyone hoping the weather holds out for Monday I’m hoping can see the bloody racing. Please Promotors sort the lights out so we can see. Was at Vojens last weekend compared to us it looked like we was inside with the lights on :)

The Leicester promotion have the visibility issue in hand and free carrots are to be handed out to spectators upon entry.
