Is Sheffield sustainable for a new promoter to pay out for??

There's been some very public issues for other sports at the venue in recent history, being kicked out.

Are the current promotion aware the stadium owners have other plans for the near future?? Going Down the Coventry route, possibly??

"Money not object" owners, for the whole of Speedway in general, is the only way to save this sport.

Every single club that doesn't own their own Arena is at serious serious risk. Isn't Poole also on the chopping block?? One of British Speedway's "richest" clubs??

Year after year we think this sport has possibly hit 'rock bottom' but the bad news just keeps coming.

Don't know how it could possibly happen, but we really could do with some of that Middle Eastern Oil money right now.

Maybe Manchester City could get one of their (ahem), "sponsors" to put some money in?? :D

The whole situation is a joke.

No, it is definitely not a joke.

As I posted earlier, I lost my Track in 1964 and 1974. I am still very bitter about the way it happened, both in 1964 and 1974.

You get to love a Sport and it is taken from you - it is no joke and certainly not funny.

I sympathise with the Supporters with every Club that has gone, or will go to the wall.

Even if Sunderland returned net Season, it is too late for me, I could not attend.

It upsets me very much the way Speedway, our Sport, is shrinking.

When one can see what has happened at Cradley Heath, Coventry, Peterborough, Wolverhampton, Wimbledon, Hull, Newcastle, Swindon et al - to me it is tragic. These were all great Teams years ago

I know I am getting on in years and some will say (not all I hope) that I am a silly old duffer living in the past.

There is an old saying: "The past is another Country; they do thing differently there".

Withthe uncertainty surrouinding how mnay leagues will be runnning next season ... what are you buying ?  a team of assets who might or minght not be able to ride for you next season ?

If I were a Sheffield supporter, I would be worried. 😞

They have done away with riders as assets, they are classed as self employed

Never done it on 2 wheels, but having raced many shale tracks in a car I can honestly say it was the most enjoyable. Yes it is fast, yes it is narrow, yes it was messy if you got it wrong. But also, yes it was exhilarating, and it gave immense satisfaction when you got it right.

I think the problem when it comes to opinions on tracks on here, and this is not meant disrespectfully, but people who have never raced anything will never understand the mindset of a racer. The risk element is part of why you do it and there is a lot of pleasure in conquering that danger.

I had a big crash there in 1996 riding for long Eaton clipping James birkenshaw’s back wheel entering the 3rd turn and smashing into the mesh fence before air fences and ending up in Sheffield hospital,,I still have the race jacket which I ripped open on my handlebar clamps, but I still didn’t mind riding there for 15 or more years as an away rider even though I was usually crap there 😂 but it was an easy place to ride and never considered it dangerous

Well .. Sheffield riders are not worried about inflating their averages looking at he scores from tonight!

They wouldn't tbh as I doubt most of their HL's will be at the club next season If Poole move up or it's one big league.

The Holder brothers will surely be going back to the Pirate ship.
