IanBrannan
They did try, I know cos I did some stuff for a pilot of it but it never happened beyond that for whatever reason. They did those online short things instead. Drive to Survive has a massive budget though to be fair, and it is a good show because they have those resources to be everywhere at all times, but that is very expensive. To put it like for like, Drive to Survive has a bigger budget than the entirety of world speedway I'd say.

To put it like for like, Drive to Survive has a bigger budget than the entirety of world speedway I'd say. Look at the effect it's had though, it's sent F1 stratospheric, especially in the US who now have 3 sell out GP's and it's doubled their tv audience... and probably more importantly attracted a younger demographic worldwide. The estimated budget was between $5m & $10m, that was for a 20+ race series worldwide though and probably included some kind of rights payment. WBD could probably have done it a lot cheaper being the rights holders. Meanwhile we have a 6 x World Champion and the only thing we know about him is he's "big happy" after each GP he wins 😂

That won’t affect what TNT do this season as the deal will need to be ratified by the US government and will still take some time to conclude. Hopefully it might be cheaper than TNT but I doubt it will change the thinking of major broadcasters to speedway in Britain.

The White Knight
My problem is not just the Speedway. I record Anderson Cooper and Kaitlin Collins every weekday night. I watch both Shows every morning. I know Trump is hostile to CNN - he is also a friend of the (Paramount) person involved in the takeover. I reckon both Shows will be finished. I do hope not though.
