Thought he had a  2yr contract but obviously he's looking to renegotiate it for a better deal.

These days I don't think contracts are worth the paper / computer they are written on, someone always want better / worse  dispite signing something that should be binding

A two year contract rises should be built into that, so there is really  no reason to re negotiate.
