All the out of state guys (including Bailey, Kennedy and McDiarmid) had to pre-qualify in a one-lap shoot-out prior to the actual Championship. Fraser Bowes may not have survived the cull! I do know Bowes qualified 6th, so made the cut by 2, but have no results other than the 4 placegetters.

Are there stats for this type of thing? I don't doubt that Harris is near / at the top, but it would be interesting to see who else was up there. Separate tables for Premiership and Championship would also be welcome as it should show the difference between the quality of opposition. For example, does Charles Wright make more passes in the top flight or second tier. Does he score most of his points from the gate at Redcar but have to do more from the back at Oxford? I wonder how many 'surprises' we would find in the top 20.

It wouldn’t be breaking the bank to sign Beau Bailey, but it would rightly be paying more than you would for a usual Aussie doing their first season over here, but when that Aussie is one of the brightest prospects in years and I think will average near 6. It might be worth it. The costs to move up would be silly. In comparison to building a strong championship side. I think if he decided to only ride in Poland and Denmark would be a bad move, he’s only 16 and would have a lot of pressure in Poland, riding in England would enable him to enjoy time on his bike without the massive pressure of Poland. I do worry him going straight into Poland, yes he has been shown the money, but that isn’t looking at the very long term and building to that, confidence is everything in any sport and Poland can make or break you. His Polish club will be telling him to base himself in Poland etc, but maybe his camp should talk to Boycie, Darcy and the Cook brothers and ask them what suited them best when they started out. He was and through the Darcy link, some on here thought he was a shoe in to sign for the pilots (ditto bailey) but Tate (with input from Darcy) decided to go to worky, yes has not come on as much as thought, but a lot of that was due to the bad injury. Susspose pilots have got that other outstanding Aussie Frazer Bowes 🙃

Or he’s just going to do premiership (if it’s still a thing), cause he ain’t doing championship.

In last seasons playoff final Bomber got nowhere near passing anyone, and he is currently the best rider in Britain at overtaking. If Bailey is as good as the hype (I've never seen him race) then his talents would be better displayed elsewhere. Hopefully he does get a Championship spot somewhere next year though as I'd like a chance to watch him round Ashfield. Here you go the lad in action

Tate could still have a decent career but he hasn't been helped by having 3 big bangs which would have dented his confidence and held him back , plus some worky supporters were saying his machinery leaves a bit to be desired. Its the same for Bailey, Rushden and Cairns they need good organisation from the get go an in an ideal world need to avoid big smashes in the early days whilst they are finding their feet.
