Missing again on Friday,  are we back to the usual Houdini Cook picking and choosing when he wants to ride? Been no real news on this ‘rotator cuff’ injury which has me a bit suspicious especially the way James talked about his absence over last weekend in interviews

I seen Craig at the Physios the other day. He is obviously getting some treatment for something

Hi all,

I hope this is okay to post as a comment in here.

I know many of you may have known my father as Jenga / j20hh. He sadly passed away recently after battling with various illnesses the last couple of months, but I know he was fairly active on here, and I thought it would be fitting to log into this account to announce it.

I'm aware he was a bit of a marmite character on these forums, but he was on here exactly how he was in real life, a windup merchant with bad grammar. It's been fascinating to look back through his posts and comments, and more so the replies from other people.

I can only apologise if he aggravated any of you with his comments, but know that they've brought a grieving son a great deal of joy, to have an online archive of my Dad just trying his best to wind people up over a sport he loved. Speedway and Workington Comets were a huge part of my Dad's life, and a huge part of my childhood, I'm sure I'll have to get down to Northside to honour his memory soon.

If any of you happened to know him in real life, I'd be more than happy to pass on funeral details over a PM.

Thanks

Thank you for posting and is always strange when people disappear and you have no idea why.Hope he RIP and condolences to everyone.

He's hardly "picking & choosing" his meetings, as he's not ridden since his injury.

Sorry for your loss. Had a few run ins with him on here but at least he was no snowflake running off to the admins and mods every five minutes. Hope he gets a good send off.

thanks for posting this calvin if you look in again (im sure you will figure out who i am )

i wasnt sure if to post or not

for the ones who called him and liked to try say he did not know what he was talking about

well i suppose now may be the time to say a long long time ago our my very good friend jenga was sort of  co promotor of our beloved  comets  and his family tried hard to get comets back up to being viable to running in profit rather than going bust

also how it was miss sold when they took over

all the good riders they were promised had all ready been sold

I dont know what others think but in my view if Cookie isnt up  for it we need to look for a replacement also Vinnie is out for a while by all accounts so maybe we look to replace him (temporarily)  R/R and guests isnt really working. The other issue which is a good problem that works against us is that there is really no home advantage visitors are up to speed on the first ride which isnt the case at the more technical??? (awkward) tracks

Unfortunately there are question marks around what exactly is the situation re Craig . We have been here before as have many clubs over the years. Perhaps only the management know the true story, it is up to them to do what is in the best interests of the business, the team and the fans.

I'm hearing David Attenborough is doing a new program on the life of the lesser spotted Cook 😜🤣

So sad to read of your loss. I always enjoyed reading Jenga winding folk up, and missed his comments when he disappeared - obviously ill then. Thanks for the fun Jenga, RIP my friend.

As much as I'd like Craig in the team

If there's any chance he's out for a while we need to make 3 changes at least

We need at least 1 decent reserve

Even when vinnie back he's not gonna be on the pace straight away

Suppose we will never know why Craig is missing but by saying he did it at Berwick probably gets r-r ,If not it would be a non speedway injury I guess and a different scenario but not 100% sure.
