I do not think it is just the Ipswich crew. Riders, mechanics etc talk either directly or using one of the electronic methods of communication yet not a murmur from anyone in the league. Perhaps all are under the threat of the sword of Damocles if anyone utters a word? Someone somewhere has some sway if that is the case. Maybe the season’s sponsors are lead by Don Corleone. All very unusual perhaps it needs a good detective to take a look. I would call in Kojak or Colombo, no point in those modern day detectives, Poirot or Morse. Maybe the answers will be forthcoming tomorrow.

When Mayfield announce the Team, It's going to be the most crucial Team announcement that they'll ever do imo because it will set the precedent for the new era.

Not sure on that personally. They’ve come in late when all the best options would have been snapped up. Coupled with riders that gave up waiting and committed elsewhere in Europe instead so it’s a bit harsh to judge them on their first team announcement. Next winter you’ll get a better idea of what they’re about and how ambitious they are.

They might actually have had nothing to do with building this particular team. That may have been Louis’ work.

Well a friend of a friend spoke with someone close (very) to the situation and they said that it should be but couldnt/wouldn't confirm anything else - including the team (not that they had any input in that anyway) so perhaps,maybe, if we are lucky etc etc

I think that is spot on.

Everything is in place & certain people apart from the riders like the sponsors know what the team is. They have been sworn to secrecy which unusually they are all sticking too.

If this is an indication of the way they work then I’m all for it. The way it should be really.

I’m interested to see what they do with it all, how it’s promoted, how it’s presented etc. Will they add anything different to the meeting day experience? Do something different? Who knows.

Also, will they add any extra meetings? Individuals, international meetings. That’s one thing Louis has done less and less of the last few years and with a sparse fixture list, adding a few extra would be most welcome.

No it wont because next season is a clean slate and they get to build with every rider available, now they only have the riders that are left

I'm not a fan of Robert Lambert but I do respect his ability on a Speedway bike.

I just don't think it'll be a good look if Ipswich don't have a No.1 and then Northampton announce Robert as their No.1.

Northampton are just as far behind as Ipswich when it comes to team building.
