They should definitely try and put on a big meeting. If they could get permission maybe over two days at a weekend. Bags of space could have a weekend festival of speedway with food stalls live music etc

No offence intended and you’re not the first person to allude to this, but we’re talking completely different companies with completely different personnel. I’d like to think it would be different but Belle Vue have tried for decades with Adrian being the last of many from Manchester. Self interest, with Louis being an example of that, have stifled the sport enormously. We just do our own thing now whilst things crumble around us. Is there some animosity between him and BSPL ? Weird that Ipswich are just referring to their new owner just as "Coleman" without his first name. The statement revealing the new owner on the Ipswich website doesn't use his first name https://ipswichwitches.co/mayfield-acquires-british-speedway-champions-ipswich/ And the statement that the new Ipswich promotion have sent to the BSPL again also only uses his surname. It's only in his open letter to Ipswich fans that he reveals his first name! Despite the teething problems with the new promoters' press release, I'm not going to be critical. The BSPL promoters I have spoken to recently seem welcoming of Richard Coleman and think he'll be an asset to British Speedway. Hope they're correct. All are just as culpable as each other, for the situation the sport finds itself in... Making up some Mickey Mouse rules as they go along, all knowing that, one day, they may need to use any particular one of them, themselves..... In the interest of Speedway, obviously..... Adrian Smith, like a fair few before, got out bewildered by, and with, so many who are still within the sport... It will be very much rinse and repeat until the inevitable happens...

He agreed to do that quite a while ago. Any collapse in negotiations to ride over here wouldn’t affect his commitment to ride for Klindt in his testimonial. Be interesting to see how he gets on though.
Gavan
We can clearly see the team will be weak but at least we have a team and a club Maybe even Belle Vue will scrape a win at Foxhall this season lol 1

As I've mentioned many times Sudden Sam got one of his best ever results that year he was basically employed as a motivator for the riders when they were in the pits and was on about 70-80k for the privaledge probably 130-140k now that's not a dig at Sam I bet he thought this is going to like getting paid for falling off a log , but goes to show from the new owners point of view how money was p-ssed up the wall. spin king
Nice to see Ipswich sale finally going through. One thing I would is due to the late sale the Ipswich team will more than likely have a totally different look to what fans are use to. At Sheffield we went through a similar situation when the Bates consortium took over Sheffield. Before we the sale going through we had only two riders signed (Simon Stead and Adam Roynon), the rest of the team were very much rag tag and bobtail of riders who did not have a team. It will be interesting to see how the Ipswich fans react, when they have been used to having big named riders like Jason Doyle and Emil, when this season the likelihood that Ipswich number 1 will be Tom Brennan. At Sheffield we more or less put up with the weakened team, and waited to see what the team was like the following season.

Just hope enough people stick with it in the short term to give the new owners the financial support they’ll need to invest in something stronger next winter when more options will be on the table. A season of making a heavy loss isn’t likely to encourage them to splash the cash next year..
