Find a facility with a larger capacity and the fans will come. 20-25k might come but that would still be half of what Cardiff was getting near its peak from what Mike has said it seems to me the current business model is go for a much smaller crowd of 5-6k over two nights but apply the maximum soak you can get away with when it comes to prices.

coldace
Why would Manchester be different to anywhere else? Check the number of 'rain offs' at the NSS far fewer than at most tracks.

Besides the odd few seasons the Cardiff track was awful year in year out. Thats the main reason why attendance dropped by supporters. ShanoXtra
All that money for the temp stand and it’s two years in a row they can’t sell the Friday out. Surely it is hitting them financially as a club negatively?! Any news on Bewleys replacement!l for Belle Vue yet? Edited Thursday at 06:46 AM by ShanoXtra . Blocks A and B will be on camera most of the evening given there will be a camera covering the home straight, so making it look full would be a priority for me if running the event... Even a crowd of 12,000 will generate well over a million, so even if the Aces only make £150k or so profit that is still around five domestic matches worth of income... Maybe Mark Lemon will be speaking with riders this weekend to see if they want to come over?... Good luck with that, if so, especially given the current injuries sustained out of Poland by some top riders... I see Janowski got stopped from riding in Sweden on Tuesday by Wroclaw... Would be no surprise if more Polish teams do the same or the PZM look to stop heatleaders riding elsewhere in Europe.

Are you serious, its common knowledge that the GP last year was a success, they have sold more tickets this year and at a higher price, you do the maths. This is one of the problems with British Speedway fans, always glass half full. 794 tickets left out of 12,000 is a great effort, probably less than 500 unsold by the end of the weekend. Behind the start line from the first bend camera.. Getting it full would look good for TV... Although, I am sure a fair few tickets will be sold today given the weather looks not too bad..
