No Doyle No Emil and possibly no Kurtz and Holder …. Those top riders will all leave slowly but surely over the winter

Brady Kurtz isn’t going to ride in England if the competition isn’t top notch why would he risk injury in a lesser league.

Once one big name goes the rest will follow

I’m sure if Kurtz was being paid the same he wouldn’t worry about the standard - he might even enjoy it like Ivan Mauger did years ago.

I remember when Simmo pulled a stroke and managed to drop down into the old second division with Hackney I've a feeling he ended up a nigh eleven point average and pretty much achieved it with his eyes closed.

But in those days it was dropping down a standard, today if one league merged into championship and the riders like fricke,Douglas etc all raced in it too Kurtz would still be racing against the same riders from this season, it’s only premier in name, not in quality

The old 2nd division was a far superior standard to that we would get with one big league now....

None of the 'stars' would drop into it on a merger anyway so it is rather a mute point

Agreed Dean back then even the top riders in the old national league filled reserve berths in the top league as number 8's and most struggled big time even against the normal top league reserves as you say even though Simmo was near the end of his career he blitzed that league with his feet pretty much up whilst smoking a cigar.
