There are 9 riders on averages above 9, and there are 9 teams. So what if one or two other teams do a Scunthorpe and sign an 8+ rider who didn't ride in the Championship last season? Some of last seasons 8+ riders will miss out on a team place. My point is valid. We are told there is a shortage of riders but potentially some will the frozen out! What is the points limit for? Teams should be built to the limit but how that's done should be up to the promotions.

Yet they now look like introducing a rule , the only one over the eight , that completely changes how you can build a team and if Berwicks latest post is to believed, six rider teams ! …I find that ridiculous . If ever a rider was brave enough to take the sport to court for ‘restriction of trade’ or the like then try and explain the rules to non speedway people and add in “ oh, by the way, we penalise non uk riders by giving the Brits a percentage reduction “ it would just show the sports authorities to be the clowns that they are . A British rider could possibly go to court saying he is a proven performer at a certain level and being prevented from earning a living because of teams using riders who require work permits.

Surely you only need 6 man teams if it is going to be one league? Why would you need that in Prem and Champ? Unless they are trying to phase out doubling up? The thing is the 40 point limit, 6 rider teams and 1 x 8+ rider are not compatible are they ?. Maybe 6 rider teams in the Prem with a 36 limit. I agree that it's unlikely (why would he start now after all?!). Jeppesen and Kildemand might not either, but they might not have a choice even if they wanted to, at this rate. It's a relief in some ways that Scunthorpe signed Pickering, I was starting believe there was a non-zero chance that BSPL saw 9 riders and 9 teams and just thought it would all work out perfectly. So should an employee needing a work permit take the job of a suitable British employee of same/similar standard ? I'm just putting forward a scenario, no agenda, just interested in how would the Government view a British Citizen being made unemployable because an employee requiring a work permit is considered by the employer to be a better option. What are you on about? I hope Danny king is not unemployed next season. Ben Barker was shafted in 2009 by 0.04. But British Speedway has a history of this. Should a British employee be unemployed when there is suitable jobs available that are taken by employees requiring a work permit.

Eh Hancock wasnt able to race because it was 1 gp rider per team. Coventry chose Hamil? Nothing to do with the Eu A ruling that was concocted by well the rulemakers i guess. Similar to now potentially. Edited 23 hours ago by Robinh88
