Saw him at a holiday camp in Devon in the early 80s, he was telling jokes about Asians, a lot of jokes about Asians. A family of Sikhs got up and walked out. You're right, they don't make em like that anymore.

He was definitely on the receiving end with endless jokes about blacks from his fellow comedians. Never offended though and took them in good spirit . People had different mentality in those days. Some would say better. As for the speedway in those days , that was definitely better. Halcyon days sadly gone forever.

You do realise you can think that the sport is in trouble, needs new direction but can also be positive about it at the same time, rather than continually talking it down?!!

okay... give it a shot, and I am being serious, and stay on topic 😃

I think if it's positivity people are looking for, this isn't the topic thread for them.

There's plenty of positivity during the season especially on the meeting topic threads, suggesting that once the tapes go up there's nothing much wrong with the sport.

It’s incredible how badly BSPL treat their customers. Absolutely no information whatsoever or a timeline for an announcement.

Did the AGM take place?

Nothing as a prelude on their own website...

You would think something so fundamentally  important in actually delivering the sport each season would have been given some media focus wouldn't you?

When they are in a position to publish something (meaningful🤞)they will. Until then (Wednesday or Thursday?) us folk on the outside can only wait.

Then make a short statement saying they will be making a full statement on wed/thur and not just leave us plebs hanging

Might be worth considering that as of now, nothing is sufficiently finalised to speculate or indicate when a meaningful announcement will be possible.

Then we are truly in trouble if it not sorted by now, the season is 10 weeks away

I would think a brief statement of the main 'bullet points' will be issued to Speedway Star to meet their Tuesday evening deadlines, with a longer statement made available this week,

As it is certain there will be 2 senior leagues, I would hope that a statement for 2026 provides a 'temporary' format solution (as its relatively short-notice) with plans agreed for significant changes in 2027.

Meeting the Speedway Star deadline is way down the agenda.

So today’s date of major exciting news being announced was never worth a w… really. Us customers, as ever, twiddling our thumbs till they decide we’re worthy enough to be put in the picture.

Perhaps it’s been delayed again until Sir Christopher Louis decides to come back from his Hollibobs.

He's travelling back tomorrow, unless he's decided to emigrate...😉
