I've got Batchelor as 4.90. It's was his official 2023 PL rolling average. Still well inside the points limit either way. Generally, if a rider has a season or 2 away from the top league they're given the highest average from their last PL average or converted CL average. Ajr Posted yesterday at 02:56 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:56 PM Bit of a cloak and dagger affair, not much info on who's running the show. Speedway Star simply stating some current promotions and additional funding. Why the secrecy?

What a dreadful looking side.Full of has beens. Doubt they will win a match at all without changes being made.

As things slowly emerge, for me they seem to confirm the "consortium" are looking to sell it on asap after the start and recoup their financial outlay. Possibly already is a party waiting in the wings. Hence minimal marketing and promotion, likewise budget team. As for the bizarre choice of Foxes for the team name, maybe Harry Redknapp has worked his contacts book a bit more by lining up Samantha Fox to front-up the "grand opening" on the 30th, perhaps with Linda Lusardi making it a twosome (or foursome)

I suspect the first few meetings will be busy due to the novelty factor, but yes it could go south rapidly. History tells us that new or newish teams are usually in fire fighting territory early on. For example Milton Keynes 1990, Skegness 1998.

Sam Fox certainly has these (or at least used to). I now understand why the team nickname is the Foxes and not the Lusardi’s.

And hats off to them and any others involved in the venture. Leicester's existence today owes much to Chapman's rescue act after the Hemsley train-crash when he cleared the debts so that Bates and Machin could come in and take over a cleaned-up mess. Lemon's may be the only name appearing on the Companies House records as Director of NS Ltd, but i'd bet Chapman and Morris are "ipso facto" directors and raised the money to fund the setting up and initial operating costs. They'll be looking to sell asap, get their money back, and exit stage left. The Promoters are in place to fulfil requirements of SCB/ACU and when new owners and directors of NS Ltd take over (whenever that is, but probably soon as possible after the season starts), they'll either disappear back off and be replaced, but more likely stay to provide continuity.

I read that there were potential purchasers that pulled out given the risk v outlay... However, these potential owners could still be interested if/when, all is shown to be a viable concern... The Premiership have committed to all six teams being in the league for this season and next, so you would imagine, come hell or high water, Northampton will work... Especially as it will show some outside parties, who may be looking to build some houses on ex tracks, that UK Speedway could just have a decent future..
