As with most decisions and agreements in speedway its more than likely not worth the paper its written on, what happens if a club is sold and the new owners do not wish to run premiership? What if the present owners have decided that they have lost enough money already and don't fancy another season of it?

Remember this is British Speedway and its made up of what ifs and maybe's, nothing can be taken as gospel or a certainty.

Flagrag mentioned a party with deep pockets were looking to get involved but didn't in the end if they were now convinced and got 2-3 good riders in and kept Thomson, Iverson, Ellis and the young aussie Mcdiad (or however you spell it) and could add say Anders Thompson, Becker , poss Zack Cook if Belle Vue have to shed riders that would be a good looking side. If they don't get involved its probably going to be more of the same a side making the numbers up but hopefully 10-15% better side than this year minimum.

I think the best thing Northampton could do is sort out the track, if it could be prepared for some half decent racing, that would help significantly to attract supporters on a regular basis.

For a first-season adaptation from a track used exclusively for stock cars they've done really well. I imagine there'll be more work done over the winter, should they be back next year.

Absolutely, a great race track might not get more fans through the gate but a bad one will see you struggle to keep what you have.

A promoters greatest asset isnt the riders or the stadium, its the track itself, your whole business is about what happens on that oval, get that wrong and your toast, sooner or later.

Don’t see why they wouldn’t be Paul. Amongst all the doom and gloom, Northampton has gone under the radar a bit. Very late to the party, no choice but to put together a weak team of leftovers, bound to finish bottom and yet by all accounts the crowds are still holding up well.
 

Seems to be a lot of potential here for a much needed success story. Will be interesting to see what team they can put together this winter when they have the same opportunity as everyone else.
