Having said that, he’d do well to stay completely clear of Bangs while he’s getting to grips with Foxhall! Could be a very interesting spectacle watching his early heats on Thursday which is the main reason I’m taking the trip across to give him a look.

Agree and I think we’re all intrigued and looking forward to seeing PHB ride on Thursday. It’s the one signing that has generated a bit of interest and without him, it would all have felt a little flat with all due respect to the others.

I’ve said it before, but I’ve always wanted to sign a Rew/Bangs every winter because it freshens things up and gives us someone new to run the rule over. We recycle the same old riders here generally and we know everything about them, what they can do, and how they ride. Bangs gives us that element of the unknown which is exciting.

Impossible to predict how he’ll get on mind you. Seems a talent and a good signing on the face of it, but then again I thought Francis Gusts was a good signing for Oxford and he turned out to be awful so you never can tell.

On his first visit to Foxhall I was impressed with gusts on track, don’t remember what he scored but got better every time he came out and had a real go, didn’t push on like I thought he would but morale looked pretty low in the Oxford pits last year, tough environment for a foreign youngster to come into and the pressure be straight on you

A preview or sorts 🥴 its bizarrely buried at the bottom of an article on Jason Edwards! No preview or words from the team manager like we used to get from Hawkins for every meeting either but hey ho.

Personally, I’d have gone for Lawson at 2. From memory has a great record in heat one’s when the track is freshly graded. We know his gating skills.

Cook doesn't seem to go that well at the Foxhole, don't know about Paco, and Scott and Coops will need time to settle, and rightly so.

Always hard to predict early season results, but if i had to, id go around the 56-34 mark.

He scored 5+2 (4) last season which apparently was his only visit in the last ten years.

witchestv.co.uk is livestreaming this meeting

So we’ve finally joined the others then. Wonder if this was always on the cards for this year under Louis, or whether it’s Mayfield’s own decision.

I know people say you can’t beat being there and that’s true no doubt about it, but it HAS to affect attendance doesn’t it? Ok, they’ll probably make up the shortfall monetary wise by having fans of the away team subscribing who had no intention of going anyway, as well as some neutrals, but how many Ipswich fans will be tempted to save a tenna and watch in the comfort of their living rooms instead? Indeed, how many Lynn fans who planned on coming tomorrow evening, will now stay home and watch the stream instead? Save a tenna as well as spiralling travelling costs.

Part of what makes a meeting entertaining is not just the racing, but the atmosphere by a well attended meeting so it’ll be disappointing if it has a noticeable affect on the numbers on the terraces.

I welcome streaming. I’ll always go to a live meeting at foxhall and I’ll generally purchase a stream when we ride away. Now the away fans can do the same.
some fans who travel a fair distance might choose to watch a stream if the weather forecast is poor rather than take a chance of a wasted trip. £14 for a stream is better than nothing if they choose to stay at home.

It’s one party I was hoping we wouldn’t join personally. I understand why they’ve done it, but it WILL affect attendance. Not everyone thinks along the same lines as you as in you’ll “always go to the live meeting”. Many, will choose to save money and watch at home instead.

As I say, I understand why they’ve done it. What they lose on the terraces, they’ll probably end up recouping in streaming revenue and possibly even making a profit, but that won’t help the meeting day experience and atmosphere at the track. If you wanted to watch the Witches at Foxhall (barring the odd BSN fixture), then you had no choice but to attend. Now, you DO have a choice, and can save money in to the bargain.
