szkocjasid
Heading into the last BSN qualifier, by my sums: Berwick have qualified, Workington cannot qualify. if Glasgow win or it's a draw, Glasgow qualify if Edinburgh win, Edinburgh qualify

Screw the fans 🖕 Edinburgh might win at Glasgow tomorrow and still get through. If Dan had been at Berwick, Edinburgh would still have needed something at Glasgow as they wouldn't have won tonight (possibly got the bonus point). Both teams severely hampered by missing number ones (Berwick missed Peter last night also).

The swifter rearrangement of rained-off BSN and KOC has been demanded by everyone to prevent finals having to be held in the darker reaches if October To achieve these faster restagings, clubs are therefore unable to decline away dates that don't totally suit them. Can't have it both ways ...... What about alternative race night being used though. In rearranged fixtures following initial rain off. Was about as off the pace as he has been in every meeting for us this season, least he’s consistent. Made some big changes to the bike after the match and went out and done some laps says he feels like the bike is night and day to ride now. So see what tomorrow brings 😂 Edited May 3 by Mr Blobby

I'm guessing from Berwick's point of view, they'll get more fans on a Saturday night, even with missing riders than they would on their alternate race-day. With so few fixtures these days, they should manage to race on Saturdays only.
DSC67
That went a lot better than I had expected, it definitely helps when your guests work well for you, hopefully we’ll get some news on the long term future on the recovery time of both the injured riders soon . I my collarbone last year and was off work for a month, and the consultant told me that it would be at least six months to fully recover, but I’m not a rider of motorcycles or bicycles and I’m sure he’ gonna be desperate to climb back on the bike as quickly as possible

That is the beauty of being self employed.

Even if you're self employed you still have to abide by the rules of those that choose to buy your services... and therein probably lies the problem, while the SCB are busy banning people for being stuck in traffic and/or missing flights they allow this practice to go on. I don't know how guests are booked, is it just a verbal agreement or is the booking registered with the SCB? I bet it's probably the former. It’s not cricket but also not illegal. From a Glasgow (and general speedway) perspective, I’d rather he wasn’t involved in any Edinburgh matches. Imagine rocking up to Ashfield today explaining to someone that one of our riders helped our rivals last night. I know it has happened many times but the rider is wide open to abuse (dammed if he scores well, accused of not trying if he doesn’t). if I was in his position and had a choice to ride at Workington rather than Berwick I know what I would choose.

That is my point. Imo Edinburgh shouldn't have been allowed any facility at all, they chose to run without DT and should reap the consequences. As much as I like to see Edinburgh struggle, it benefits no one forcing a team to go into a meeting under strength. it will always come to the best interests of the sport. We had to deal with Dan, Leon and Villads missing meetings last year. I would have been fuming if we couldn’t use a facility to replace them. Sure I said earlier in this thread, but we agreed this date as Dan was available as his polish club said he wasn’t needed. They then changed their mind during the week and if they call upon him he has to be there. Good news going forward however is unless they plan on using him in the 1-7 and there’s a fixtures clash in the UK they won’t call on him to be the number 8 and allows him to ride here instead. Nice to see a polish club willing to compromise for a change.
